The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO is an 8-input live production switch for live streaming. It features a built-in control panel and has advanced streaming functions. In addition to live streaming using RTMP protocols, you can also generate your program as if it were a webcam via USB. The SWITCH's ISO label means you can individually record each of the eight input videos as an MP4, as well as program output through one of the USB Type-C ports. The switch automatically generates a DaVinci Resolve project file, so you can clean it up and make changes later. The eight independent HDMI inputs of this versatile switch accept all popular HD signals up to 1080p60. Each input has discrete format and frame rate converters, and supports resynchronization to seamlessly switch between a variety of professional and consumer cameras, game consoles, and computer sources.

Change, add effects, color grade and key in real time using the buttons on the control surface or using the software control panel. CCU functions are available to control cameras Blackmagic Studio and URSA Mini / Broadcast / Micro Studio from the switch. The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO supports up to nine layers, with four up and two downstream keyers, up to four chroma keyers, up to four linear keyers, two DVE with edges and shadows, five pattern generators, and two color generators. Control interface

The front panel includes easy-to-use buttons for selecting fonts, video effects, and transitions. The font buttons are large, allowing you to operate them to the touch. Included in the ATEM Extreme ISO are buttons for audio mixing, recording, and streaming control, as well as output selection buttons that allow you to switch video output between cameras, program, and multi-view. On the rear panel, there are HDMI connections for cameras or computers, additional microphone inputs, USB for webcam output, plus an HDMI "AUX" output for program video.

Production

You can broadcast using the Ethernet connection to your network or use the USB Type-C output so that your switched program is recognized as a webcam input by virtually any video software like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster and others. .

4G and 5G phone support

If you're doing a live production on-site, ATEM Mini Extreme models support connecting an Apple or Android phone to the USB port to use mobile data. It's also an excellent backup for the main Ethernet connection, so you don't lose your transmission if your wired connection is interrupted. The switch will automatically switch to use the phone as the main connection, and the USB port will also power your phone, so the battery won't drain.

Multi-view monitoring

You can set the HDMI output for multi view with 4, 7, 10, 13, up to 16 views, including Program, Preview, eight HDMI inputs, SuperSource, clean power, media player, streaming status, recording status and audio meters.

Camera control

The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO can control the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K models when updated to the latest software and connected via HDMI inputs. You can control your HDMI camera settings like iris, gain, focus, detail, and zoom control on compatible lenses. In addition, you can balance the color of the cameras, as well as create unique styles with the DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector built into the pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K Blackmagic .

Media Group

The switch can store up to 20 images with fill and key, and supports PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF file formats.

Compatibility

It includes the ATEM software control panel and also supports the advanced ATEM 1 M/E, ATEM 2 M/E and ATEM 4 M/E panels. The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO can be configured using Blackmagic 's Videohub hardware panel configuration utility to route sources to destinations using Videohub Smart Control Pro and Videohub Master Control Pro.

Recording

ATEM Mini Extreme models support direct recording of your streaming data to USB flash disks using the same H.264 video files with AAC audio that you streamed. The Mini Extreme ISO also allows you to record the eight input video channels as MP4 files. This allows you to upload directly to any online video site, such as YouTube or Vimeo. Burning to multiple discs is also supported via a USB hub or MultiDock Blackmagic , so when a disc fills up, burning can continue on a second disc to burn non-stop. Recording settings and disc selection are configured in ATEM Software Control, and there is a recording status view in the built-in multi-view. You can even turn on recording on the connected Blackmagic Pocket Cinema cameras.

DaVinci Resolve Integration

The Mini Extreme ISO saves a DaVinci Resolve project file, so with a single click, you can open your live production as a video edit. All cuts, dissolutions, and graphics of media groups will be uploaded, allowing you to modify and edit your live production using the recorded input footage. If you recorded the camera originals as camera files Blackmagic Raw, you can relink them and take advantage of DaVinci Resolve's color correction capabilities.

Video effects

One of the benefits of ATEM Mini is the professional production values possible using the range of built-in video effects. The cut button ensures instant cut when switching between sources. The auto button is a professional term used in large transmission switches to allow video effect transitions. There are duration buttons for video effects that allow for 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2-second settings. You can also select the type of effect you want, including blending, which makes a smooth transition between sources, and immersion, which fades through a color during transition. Or use fun DVE effects that move the image off the screen when you switch fonts.

Audio

With two independent 3.5mm stereo audio inputs, you can connect desktop and lapel microphones, or you can connect a music player to generate introductory music after the live stream starts but before the program starts. With two additional stereo audio inputs, you can ensure that both the host and guest have lapel microphones when conducting interviews. All audio inputs in the ATEM Mini include buttons on the panel to adjust the audio level and enable inputs in the audio mixer. All models feature a Fairlight audio mixer with all HDMI inputs, and both microphone inputs are connected to the audio mixer, so you can mix live from all audio sources. The ATEM Mini Extreme also adds a headphone output.
