For example, you can control the position within a clip with your right hand while setting In and Out points and applying edits with your left. According to the comments of professionals, the Resolve Editor keyboard even has subtle design features, such as an empty space above certain keys, so that they can be located to the touch. Key features
Metal design with premium keys
The all-metal design includes keys with a staggered profile, rather than flat wrenches, making it easy to grope around. The key switches are of the same type as those used by eSports keyboards and each key is certified for more than one million operations. The integrated search dial is machined from solid metal and allows for very precise transport and trimming control. There is also a palm rest with a soft touch to help reduce fatigue. In addition, key covers, palm rests, and key switches are available as spare parts so that the keyboard can be updated and repaired over time.
Built-in search dial control
The metal search dial features a rubber coating and is designed with multiple roller bearings that allow for smooth operation. There is an integrated electronic clutch that creates stops when used for steering wheel and position. The dial can also be rotated in jog mode to allow a natural displacement of the timeline. The jog control allows free movement for precise positioning of the playback point. Shuttle uses the clutch, and can turn the wind back and forth to move up and down the timeline. Scroll allows you to scroll up and down in a long edit for quick navigation.
Quick Source Tape allows you to scroll clips
The innovative font button instantly creates a "font tape" of all the clips in your container. Now you can simply scroll up and down all your means without the need to navigate through thousands of clips. The clip being viewed is also highlighted in the container in real time. The switch between the source tape and the timeline is instantaneous.
Instantly reorder the source container and tape
The source tape uses the sort order of its tray, so you have a lot of control over how the shots are arranged. This gives you the flexibility to search for shots by time, camera, duration, or even clip name. The moment one of the container sort buttons is selected, the source ribbon will be regenerated in the sort order of that container. Simply scroll up and down the source tape to find the necessary shots. Sort by timecode to see all container media sorted by time, which is very useful for content filmed in order of time, such as live events. You can also sort by camera, ideal for multi-camera shots where you place the wide shot first and then look for cuts in other cameras. You can even sort by duration and the name of the clip.
Quick entry and exit points
The buttons on the Entry and Exit points are designed in a large way, and a small empty space is provided above them to allow them to be located by touch. That helps by controlling the transport with the right hand and marking entry and exit points with the left hand. When you select In and Out points on the DaVinci Resolve cut page, you also trim clips. Once the In and Out points are set up, simply reach the edit buttons with your fingers. The In and Out points can also be used to collapse the source tape to limit the included clips. You can then change the source ribbon back to the entire container by pressing the Escape key.
Smart keyboard editing modes
The editing functions are located just above the input and output keys, to allow a simple movement of the fingers to activate the editing you need. Because editing with a keyboard is quite different from editing in a computer's user interface, the editing features have been optimized to take advantage of the speed of a keyboard. Most edits can be made to the source clip without the need to place edit points on the timeline itself, eliminating time wasted switching between the source and the timeline. Edit points can automatically locate the nearest timeline edit or even match the timecode. A good example is Smart Insert, which locates the nearest edition and inserts at that point.
