Using the ColorChecker^® Gray Balance lens for on-site reflective exposure metering will give you confidence that your images will be exposed as accurately as possible. The ColorChecker Gray Balance lens is a pocket-sized version of the reference 18% gray color used in the standard ColorChecker lens with 24 patches. The Grey reference is scientifically crafted to provide you with a uniform, accurate and spectrally neutral surface, meaning it reflects equal amounts of red, blue and green) in all types of lighting conditions.

The perceived color of white changes based on environmental conditions - outdoors it is perceived as cooler, indoors it is perceived as warmer and under fluorescent light it is perceived as greener.
