The PQ ILFORD Universal Paper & Film Developer is a concentrated liquid developer, ideal for plate or tray development of all types of black-and-white, resin-coated (RC) and fiber-based (FB) photo papers. It is a derivative of dimezones/hydroquinone. Unlike the ILFORD Multigrade developer, this developer produces a slightly warmer tone.
PQ developer has excellent preservation properties. In addition, PQ Universal can be used for tray or capsule development of technical films from ILFORD and other manufacturers. It is also suitable for capsule or capsule development of general-purpose sheet films when a fast, high-contrast developer is required. This developer is ideal when large magnification is not required.
It should be noted that gloves, eye protection, apron, or coveralls ILFORD recommended when handling and mixing all chemicals.
Note:
PQ Universal is NOT recommended for processing general-purpose 35mm and roll film formats, or for high-temperature or machine processing applications.
For film processing applications, 1+9 (high contrast) or 1+19 (pictorial contrast) is diluted.
PQ Universal Developer is designed for use at room temperature: 20°C (68°F)
Dilute 1+9 or 1+4 for normal working conditions; Dilute 1+9/1+19 for technical films and films.
