Features of the Ninja Atomos monitor

With an updated operating system, HDR monitoring, and RAW recording capabilities, the Atomos Ninja 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor is an ideal 5.2" in-camera monitor and recorder to use on your next set. This monitor supports DCI 4K HDMI images and can even record ProRes RAW up to 6K with compatible cameras. The Ninja retains the same form factor as its predecessors to be compatible with most monitor accessories Atomos for easy integration with your pre-existing equipment.

atomos 11 operating system

Designed for the new Ninja, the atomos 11 operating system equips your monitor with new features along with an improved icon interface for more intuitive operation. Focus Peaking, Zoom, Atomos and ARRI False Color, EL Zone Colored Exposure, Safe Areas, RecordAssist, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro, and Cine Guides are among the many monitor assist features available. The AtomHDR processing engine allows a real-time Log to PQ/HLG preview.

5.2" touchscreen

The Ninja's 5.2" IPS touchscreen offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a brightness of 1000 cd/m² for viewing in broad daylight. 10-bit color processing, Rec.709 color gamut, and Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support ensure color-accurate, high-quality monitoring of your footage.

Color Integral

Ninja supports the use of selected log formats from SONY, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, NIKON, PANASONIC , and CANON. Load custom 3D LUTs on the monitor and output HDR conversion to Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision formats.

HDMI interface, ProRes RAW recording

Ninja's HDMI input and output ports support up to DCI 4K video at 60fps in monitoring, recording, and playback modes. 3.5K RAW footage at 60fps is compatible with select cameras.

More than 55 different cameras support RAW recording over HDMI with Ninja up to 6K at 30fps.

Record 4K HDR gameplay

The Ninja can be configured as a standalone system for UHD 4K, HDR, and high-frame-rate game capture. Instantly record, monitor, and review your gameplay for publication on YouTube or other platforms.

Optional Atomos CONNECT module

The Ninja supports the separately available Atomos CONNECT module to access cloud workflows such as C2C, Atomos Edit and Atomos RemoteView via Atomos Cloud Studio. The CONNECT module adds 12G-SDI connectivity, AirGlu wireless control and timecode, Wi-Fi 6, and GigE Ethernet to your monitor interface. This allows you to send video signals to live streaming platforms, via NDI, and to custom RTMP/S destinations. You can also convert HDMI video to SDI and SDI to HDMI using the CONNECT module.

 AtomX

Use AtomX CAST to transform your Ninja into a compact, full-featured production studio. This component enables advanced multi-input switching from four 1080p HDMI sources, the application of graphics overlays, and the ability to use a USB UVC webcam output for enhanced web conferencing and live streaming.

SSD Recording

The Ninja is compatible with the Atomos Master Caddy II and Master Caddy III 2.5" hard drives that support direct recording to the drives. You can also record to compact AtomX SSDmini drives and CFAST II cards using a separately available adapter.

Power Options

An L-series battery plate on the back of the Ninja can support L-series NP-F batteries with an output of 5.8 to 7.2 V. A USB-C port supports 30W PD power delivery with the included cable. Use the included dummy eliminator to power the monitor via DC power supplies.

Control Options

Multi-function control buttons work in tandem with the touchscreen interface for intuitive integrated control.

The HDMI Camera Self-Timer is compatible with CANON and SONY cameras that use Open Standard Atomos .

Unlock the Bluetooth and RF controlled remote with the optional CONNECT module.

LANC control and calibration can be accessed via a separately available USB-C to serial connection cable.
