XF200 Canon Camcorder

The XF200 Canon HD camcorder is a compact camera ergonomically suited for traditional multi-camera productions, as well as ENG, event coverage, independent films and documentaries. The camera features a 1/2.84" CMOS sensor that captures 1920 x 1080 video at various frame rates up to 59.94p, including a 24p mode for a more cinematic feel. CANON 's built-in HD 20x optical zoom lens has an equivalent zoom range of 35mm 26.8 to 576mm, and features an eight-leaf iris to represent reflections in a more natural way. Individual gear rings for focus, zoom and iris on the lens provide you with a natural way to make manual adjustments.

The camera records MPEG-2 at frame rates of 23.98/29.97p and 59.94i at up to 50 Mb/s, with 4:2:2 color sampling, in integrated CF card slots using an MXF container that is compatible with the most popular NLE systems. You can also record to a built-in SDXC card slot using the MP4 codec at frame rates up to 59.94p. The XF200 features four channels of audio with manual/automatic recording levels, with two XLR inputs and a built-in microphone in the camera. The built-in grip features 120° rotation, making it easy to find a comfortable shooting position.

Built-in dual-band Wi-Fi allows you to control camera functions from available mobile devices, as well as view images on devices. Proxy files can be transferred over Wi-Fi while you are recording new images. The camera also incorporates an Ethernet connection, so you can transfer files directly from the camera. An HDMI output provides you with video output.

• Sensor de 1920 x 1080 CMOS

The XF200 has a 1/2.84" HD CMOS image sensor that is slightly larger than a 1/3" sensor. The sensor features about 5% more pixels than 1920 x 1080, and records a 1920 x 1080 window from the slightly large sensor. This allows the camera to use the extra pixels for electronic image stabilization and maintain the resolution of 1920 x 1080, so the image does not degrade when exploding as in traditional EIS systems.

• 20x optical zoom lens

The 20x HD Canon zoom lens provides a zoom range with a 35mm equivalent of 26.8 to 576mm and a minimum object distance of just 23.6". The lens features an eight-leaf iris design that provides out-of-focus reflections with a natural rounded look.

The lens features three infinitely rotating rings for focus, zoom and iris. The rings use an electronic coupling to move lens functions, but maintain a mechanically bound feel during use.

• Image stabilization

The XF200 offers optical image stabilization (OIS), useful for reducing image blur in a wide variety of shooting situations. It also uses Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) in conjunction with OIS, providing five-axis image stabilization.

• Advanced displays

The camera features maximum focus and a selectable waveform monitor display.

• OLED and EVF display screen

The 3.5" Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display provides vivid color and 1.23MP resolution The display screen has a viewing angle of more than 80° in all directions, allowing you to see a usable image even when the display screen is out of angle. The EVF color is 0.45" with 1.23MP resolution and tilts up to 45° to accommodate different shooting positions.

• Audio

The XF200 features a built-in microphone and two line-level/XLR microphone inputs with +48V phantom power to connect external microphones.

• Outputs

The camera features an HDMI output connector.
Media card slots
Dual CF card slots allow for a variety of recording options:
Dual Recording: Simultaneously record the same footage to different media cards using different codecs and bit rates
Dual-slot recording: Simultaneously record to each of the two CF memory card slots, providing instant backup for your footage
Recording Relay: The XF200 automatically switches video recording from one memory card to the other when the first memory card fills up
The SDXC slot can be used to burn high-quality MP4 files, and you can simultaneously record to a CF card slot and SDXC card slot.

• Infrared shooting mode

Activating infrared (IR) shooting mode moves the IR cut filter away from the optical path for shooting in low light conditions. An IR emitter integrated into the handle superior provides an IR source.

• Wi-Fi connectivity

Dual-band Wi-Fi support (5 GHz and 2.4 GHz) is built into the camera, allowing the transfer of FTP MP4 video files. The camera supports a browser interface that, combined with Wi-Fi support, allows you to control key camera functions, including start/stop recording, zoom (limited to three speeds), exposure functions, and focus using a smartphone or tablet. You can also watch and download recorded MP4 shots from the camera on a PC or mobile device while continuing to shoot.

• Wired connectivity

A built-in Ethernet port allows you to link your camera to existing wired networks and wireless routers, allowing you to download streams from memory cards.

• Autofocus

The camera features an autofocus system with several useful modes, including Instant AF, which uses the TTL-Video signal detection system and external sensor, and Face Detection AF, which tracks focus on faces in the video frame.
Wide dynamic range
A wide dynamic range of 600% gamma helps prevent overexposure, even in high-brightness areas of an image and/or with non-uniform colors. Unlike the normal knee function that compresses video signals in high-brightness areas using linear gamma, a wide DR gamut preserves continuity throughout the image and allows for color graduation.
