Almost everything you'd want in a professional-grade portable camcorder is here in one sleek package: three 1920 x 1080 CMOS sensors, multiple bitrates (up to 50 Mbps), variable resolution and frame rates, industry-standard MXF file wrappers, a new 18x L-series lens with zoom, HDMI/component/composite outputs and full image customization. • MPEG-2 Codec 50Mbps

MPEG-2's adaptation of CANON for the XF300 professional camcorder, called CANON XF Codec, ensures the broadest compatibility with existing industrial infrastructure and non-linear editing (NLE) systems. And by using an MXF file container, video and audio can be wrapped in a single file along with important metadata. The codec's constant 50Mbps bit rate provides the bandwidth needed to capture the XF300's superior resolution and color in spectacular detail.

• 4:2:2 color sampling

The XF300 supports the highest HD quality, with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, bit rate up to 50Mbps, and 4:2:2 color sampling. 4:2:2 color sampling provides twice the color resolution of HDV and other codecs using 4:2:0 color sampling. 4:2:2 provides ultra-fine transitions in tone and color and maintains the highest quality image for use in post-production processes such as color coding, color grading, advanced composition, and effects.

• Record to Compact Flash Cards

Unlike other camcorders that use proprietary memory systems, the XF300 records cost-effective and readily available Compact Flash (CF) cards. The camcorder features two CF card slots and offers versatile recording features including relay recording, hot swapping, file backup and backup, and pre-recording.

File-based recording facilitates workflow by reducing transfer times when moving video to non-linear editing (NLE) systems. In addition, metadata can be entered into image acquisition, and images can be reviewed immediately after recording to ensure that every shot is captured and recorded correctly.

• Three native 1920 x 1080 CMOS CMOS image sensors

With a new design and manufactured exclusively by CANON, the XF300 camcorder incorporates three native 1920 x 1080 CMOS image sensors, which provide excellent Full HD video recording with minimal noise. • Multiple bit rates, resolution, and frame rates

Multiple recording modes, resolutions and frame rates make the XF300 professional camcorder creatively flexible and capable of working in virtually any production environment. From the highest quality of 50Mbps Full HD to 25Mbps compatible with HDV, users will find the camcorder capable of taking on any job. The XF300 professional camcorder also offers a full range of selectable frame rates. You can choose from 60i, 60p, 30p, and 24p settings to achieve the look you want.

• DIGIC DV III CANON Image Processor

The XF300 features CANON's powerful DIGIC DV III image processor, which provides improved shading, real-tone gradations, new custom image settings, and lower power consumption. DIGIC DV III is also the high-speed engine that powers CANON's Genuine Face Detection. Moving videographers will appreciate the ability to track a topic in a crowd of people.

• Original 18x HD L-Series CANON Lens

Inspired by the same high level of optical accuracy used in CANON's broadcast and photographic lenses, the CANON XF300 professional camcorder incorporates a genuine L-Genuine 18x HD CANON lens that features a wide and impressive zoom range from 29.3 to 527.4mm (35mm equivalent). The lens incorporates High Index: Ultra-low Dispersion (HI-UD), Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) and aspherical elements to minimize chromatic aberration while offering a resolution of 1,000 TV lines.

When recording high-definition video, sharp focus becomes more critical than ever. CANON 's patented instant AF system combines an external AF sensor with CANON 's legendary autofocus system for fast and accurate focusing. Together, the two sensors reduce focus time, even in low-light, low-contrast, or high-brightness situations, and improve focusing performance on difficult subjects.
