In addition, the BG-E6 offers complete vertical shooting controls, which can be independent on or off as the photographer needs to improve camera handling, especially for taking vertical images.

The BG-E6 CANON grip is an optional battery grip designed specifically for the EOS 5D Mark II CANON. Users are allowed to charge a selection of one or two LP-E6 battery packs. With two packs, the already impressive battery life doubles, compared to using a single LP-E6 package in the camera. This is especially useful when taking advantage of the camera's movie mode or Live View mode – operating modes that use more power. In addition, with the included Battery magazine BGM-E6, alternatively the camera can also run six AA batteries.
