    8.85 MP Super 35mm CMOS sensor

    An 8.85 MP Super 35mm CMOS sensor, designed and manufactured by CANON specifically for video recording, delivers excellent high-resolution images with high sensitivity and low noise; features that minimize the effects of the rolling shutter and provide a wonderful shallow depth of field.

    10-bit 4K RAW

    The C500 offers 10-bit 4K, RGB 2K (4:4:4, 10/12-bit) or Full HD RGB RAW data output to an external third-party device that supports frame rates of up to 60P. Two additional SDI outputs allow connection to an external monitor. Simultaneously record Full HD MXF files to CF cards for use as proxies in desktop editing.

    Interchangeable lenses (EF mount)

    Expand your creative options with a huge range of interchangeable lenses. The EF mount with Cinema Lock is compatible with CANON 's EF 4K cinema lenses and more than 60 EF lenses including the Macro and Fisheye. In addition, the locking mechanism of the movable lens makes it easier to change targets. 3 built-in electronic ND filters increase shooting versatility.

    Compact, modular and lightweight

    Ultra-compact, a basic recording setup weighs as little as 1,820g (no lens). A removable multi-angle LCD panel ensures maximum maneuverability and the solid, splash-resistant body has been manufactured with magnesium alloy components for additional rigidity and strength.

    MPEG-2 MXF 50 Mbps on CF cards

    Broadcast-ready MPEG-2 MXF recording files at 50 Mbps (4:2:2) on two CF memory cards, with uninterrupted and simultaneous recording options. Industry-standard outputs include HD-SDI and timecode features, Genlock and sync terminals for multi-camera captures.

    High sensitivity, low noise

    Images with improved sensitivity and low noise can be captured at speeds up to 20,000 ISO, allowing them to be used in almost all shooting situations.

    log CANON

    Recording with CANON Log offers neutral image quality with a wide dynamic range (12 stops latitude with a base setting of 850 ISO) for maximum freedom in post-production.

    24p for video production

    PAL, NTSC, and 24.00p modes are included as standard. Support for frame rates of up to 120p at both 4K and 2K resolution enables high-speed (slow-motion) video recording in high resolution.

    Wi-Fi Remote Control

    Use the optional Wi-Fi Adapter (WFT-E6) to control camera settings such as ISO, focus, aperture, white balance, and ND filters using a laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a simple browser-based user interface.
