E-TTL II Flash Measurement

Portable and compact, the Speedlite 430EX II is a powerful flash with a Guide Number of 43 suitable for capture with both bounce and telephoto flash. E-TTL II measurement with compatible cameras offers accurate flash exposure in all situations, even when light bounces off a wall or ceiling.

For more control, flash power can be set manually to 1/3 point increments between 1/1 and 1/64 power.

24-105mm auto zoom head

When used with a compatible digital EOS SLR, the Speedlite 430EX II automatically detects the size of the camera sensor and adjusts the zoom of the flash head for optimal scene coverage. This reduces light loss and improves both battery life and recycling times.

The 24-105mm automatic zoom head and 14mm wide panel diffuser ensure flash coverage in a wide range of capture situations.

The rotating and tilting head allows the use of bounce flash to create smoother lighting by using a single flash installed on the camera.

Wireless slave unit

The Speedlite 430EX II can be used as a wireless slave flash drive activated by a corresponding master flash drive. Its small size and large output power make it an ideal slave unit to create a portable studio with multiple flashes.

Power supply

Powered by 4 AA batteries, the Speedlite 430EX II is lightweight, portable and compact enough to carry with you. Recycling is about 20% faster than the previous model and is virtually inaudible to avoid scaring off nature's shyest creatures.

Long life

A metal shoe and a quick release of the lock ensure that the connection between the camera and the Speedlite is comfortable and secure.

Flash control

When used with a compatible camera, all aspects of flash control, including flash activation settings and the nine custom functions, can be adjusted from the camera menu**.

AF Help

The Speedlite 430EX II features 1- to 9-point AF and can emit an infrared focus beam that delivers contrast to the lens for focusing in low-light conditions.
