The HS range, highly appreciated by photography enthusiasts around the world, has become synonymous with versatility and optical quality among photographers who do not want the ability to change the lens of a DSLR but do want full control of their images. These HS series cameras incorporate several major specification improvements over their predecessor, the HS20EXR. The electronic viewfinder (EVF) of the FinePix HS30EXR has been improved. In addition, the power supply of the FinePix HS30EXR has switched to a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is capable of taking up to 600 photographs per charge. These are just a few of the changes that will allow the HS30EXR to keep fujifilm's name at the top of the semi-compact long-zoom camera market in 2012.

A new sensor for even better images

When it comes to versatility, Fujifilm's EXR CMOS sensor is unrivaled. Its unique design allows it to change its characteristics according to lighting conditions to ensure that users always get the best results. The HS30EXR and FinePix HS25EXR feature the enhanced EXR CMOS sensor, which offers the user even more versatility, especially in low-light conditions. Thanks to the new shape design of the exdiodes of the EXR CMOS sensor, images show 30% less digital noise with high ISO sensitivity settings for smoother tones and better low-light images. The EXR CMOS sensor offers three user-selectable options. High resolution (HR) priority offers the best results in bright lighting conditions or when the most important thing is to obtain a higher level of detail in the image. Dynamic Range (DR) priority is ideal for capturing images in high-contrast light situations, when the user wants detail in both light and shadow areas, while high sensitivity and low noise (SN) priority is the one to choose in low-light conditions. All of these modes can be selected or the HS series camera can be left to choose using the EXR AUTO function.
