• 20MP stacked sensor and TruePic X

Micro Four Thirds Sensor BSI Live MOS

The newly designed 20.4MP Micro Four Thirds Live MOS sensor features a stacked BSI design that offers improved read speeds, noise levels and greater dynamic range than previous designs. This sensor structure improves noise performance at two stops and dynamic range at one stop to improve image quality, especially at higher ISO values.

TruePic X processor

Compared to previous-generation processors, TruePic X offers 3x faster processing speeds along with a 120fps sensor readout speed for faster, more responsive shooting. The processor also contributes to a wide ISO range and fast continuous shooting rates:

1. Native sensitivity range of ISO 200-102400, expandable up to ISO 80.
2. Continuous shooting at up to 10fps with full-time AF/AE and a raw 169-frame buffer when working with a mechanical shutter.
3. If you're working with a silent electronic shutter, you can shoot at 20fps with permanent AF/AE and a raw 108-frame buffer. SH1 and SH2 are high-speed shooting modes without blackouts, offering rates of up to 120fps without AF/AE on SH1 and 50fps with AF/AE on SH2.
4. Pro Capture mode starts recording before you release the shutter; Capable of recording at 120fps with fixed focus or 50fps with continuous AF, this mode starts recording once the shutter button is pressed halfway down and then stops once the button is fully pressed. Up to 70 additional frames can be recorded with this mode, serving as protection for moments when the action occurs just before pressing the shutter button.

Cross Quad Pixel AF and AI detection

With a unique design, in-sensor phase detection AF uses a Cross Quad Pixel system that effectively splits each pixel into four subpixels for cross-sensor performance that is more adept at focusing in difficult lighting conditions. The focusing system has 1053 individual points, which completely cover the sensor and operate at up to 120 fps to suit virtually all recording methods.

Benefiting from the Cross Quad Pixel AF structure, color and contrast information from the sensor can also be used to create a detailed depth map of the image for more refined subject detection and tracking accuracy. Using AI, this focusing system can automatically detect a variety of subject types, such as cars, motorcycles, planes, helicopters, trains, birds, dogs, cats, and humans, as well as faces and eyes. And, compared to previous iterations of this focusing system, improved processing now makes focusing performance 2x more accurate and 3x faster.

• Image stabilization and computational photography

5-axis image stabilization

In-body 5-axis image stabilization compensates for up to 8 stops of camera shake, allowing for the use of significantly longer shutter speeds when shooting handheld. This advanced sensor switching system compensates for 7 stops of camera movement with the body alone, and an additional stop is provided when selected IS-enabled lenses are attached.

Handheld Assist relies on this stabilization technology to achieve a more stable framing, which is especially useful when working with longer focal length lenses. Additional in-body image stabilization also contributes to a variety of shooting modes and additional camera functions, including high-resolution shooting modes, handheld live composite, and an advanced dust reduction system.

Creative shooting modes

1. High-Resolution Shooting: Benefiting from the stacked sensor design, processing power, and image stabilization system, this mode combines a series of 12 shots into a single, higher-resolution frame in just 5 seconds. Tripod High Res Shots mode produces an 80MP flat file and Handheld High Res Shot mode produces a 50MP flat file, and both modes offer up to 2 stops of reduced noise and enhanced color information.
2. Live ND: Now compatible with up to ND64 (6 stops), this unique feature digitally simulates the effects of a neutral density optical filter to produce long exposure/slow shutter speed effects.
3. Live Composite: Perfect for long exposures, night shots and light painting applications, this unique mode gradually creates an exposure over time without overexposing key elements within the frame. This mode works to record only newly detected light sources over time and allows for live viewing monitoring as an image develops. A portable Live Composite mode is also available.
4. Focus Stacking: This mode automatically records 15 sequential frames while changing the focus plane slightly between each frame, then combines these exposures into a single image that exhibits an extended depth of field.

• DCI/UHD 4K video recording

1. DCI/UHD 4K video recording supports up to 60p and 10-bit 4:2:0 sampling. Full HD recording is possible at speeds up to 240fps for slow-motion playback.
2. The 12-bit raw output is supported via the micro-HDMI port when working with an optional compatible external recorder, such as Atomos Ninja V or Ninja V+.
3. The HLG image mode allows HDR recording in the camera and an OM-Log gamma allows a greater range of color gradation when adjusting the footage in post-production.
4. Time-lapse production is possible in the camera, up to UHD 4K with frame rates from 5fps to 30fps.
5. 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports contribute to greater control and quality of audio recording.

Electronic viewfinder and LCD

1. The electronic viewfinder features a 5.76 million-dot OLED panel, offering a bright, clean medium for eye-level control. The viewfinder has 0.83x equivalent magnification, a 21mm crosshair, and a 120fps refresh rate for realistic motion reproduction.
2. The 3.0" 1.62 m dot LCD touchscreen features a vari-angle design with 270° swivel to adapt to work from high, low and front angles.

Durable, weather-sealed construction

1. The durable and lightweight magnesium alloy body design is dust and splash resistant with an IP53 rating for guaranteed use in harsh weather conditions.
2. The rugged design is also freeze-proof for reliable use in temperatures up to 14°F.
3. The durable shutter design is rated for 400,000 shutter activations.

Practical and intuitive operation

1. Using the new BLX-1 battery, the OM-1 is rated for 520 rounds per charge. Charging the battery in the body is possible via the USB Type-C port, and the camera can also be powered by a USB-connected power bank.
2. Dual UHS-II SD memory card slots for flexible file storage, including backing up to the camera, splitting file types, or simply having extra memory on hand for extra storage.
3. The updated menu settings make it easy to find different settings, confirm configuration selections, and understand why dimmed items cannot be selected.
4. Separate AEL and AF-ON buttons for easier and more direct control over the different functions. Both buttons can also be customized to adjust different settings.
5. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (5 and 2.4 GHz) allow wireless file transfer and remote control of the camera via the OI app. Share for mobile devices.

Features OLYMPUS 150-400mm lens

With impressive reach and versatility, the OLYMPUS 150-400mm M.Zuiko ED f/4.5 TC1.25X IS PRO lens, from OLYMPUS, is a super-telephoto zoom lens characterized by its wide range, built-in teleconverter, and a relatively sleek design for portable use. Built for Micro Four Thirds cameras, this zoom offers an equivalent focal length range of 300-800mm, which can be further extended using the built-in 1.25x teleconverter for an effective equivalent focal length of 1000mm. The constant maximum aperture of f/4.5 provides constant illumination throughout the zoom range and is slightly reduced af/5.6 when the teleconverter is in use.

Complementing the huge zoom range of the 150-400mm lens OLYMPUS is a suitable image stabilization system that compensates for camera shake to deliver sharp photos and videos. This system can also work in conjunction with camera-based stabilization, via Sync IS, for even more powerful stabilization to suit work at the extremes of the zoom range. The lens also has an integrated tripod collar for balanced support when shooting from a tripod and, as a PRO lens, has a weather-sealed design that is dust, moisture and freeze resistant to work in inclement conditions.

The super-telephoto zoom is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides a focal length range equivalent to 300-800mm.

The built-in 1.25x teleconverter OLYMPUS 150-400mm lens allows you to instantly extend your reach to 187.5-500mm (or equivalent to 375-1000mm) simply by pressing a toggle switch. Since the teleconverter is integrated within the lens housing, it optically adapts to the lens to improve image performance and also fully maintains the tightness of the lens.

The constant maximum aperture of f/4.5, without the teleconverter in position, offers constant illumination throughout the zoom range. When the 1.25x teleconverter is activated, the maximum aperture is effectively f/5.6.

Optical image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake to suit manual shooting applications and 5-axis Sync IS is also supported to take advantage of the benefits of camera-based sensor switching IS for even more robust stabilization.

The focus range limiter allows you to restrict the focusing system to ranges of 4.3-19.7', 4.3' to infinity or 19.7' to infinity for faster focusing performance depending on subject type and distance.

Focus hold buttons are located on the lens cylinder for intuitive touch control and quick access to settings.

The L-Fn switch (function) can be used for lens-based activation of certain preset setting modes.

The dust, freeze and drip proof design ensures the performance of the lens OLYMPUS 150-400mm in harsh and inclement conditions.

The tripod collar provides well-balanced support when working from a monopod or tripod and allows for quick switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations.
