The Atomos Neon series is the beginning of a new era for filmmakers, combining traditional recording with the innovation and technology of Atomos, i.e. RAW recording with real-time monitoring, to check the shooting and continuity between scenes. Recording in ProRes RAW has become the standard in the professional world. In addition, it incorporates Dolby Vision, which completes a perfect set for the creator, allowing decisions to be made at the time of recording, monitoring and editing even on home televisions.
The Neon Atomos are ideal to complement each other in the studio or on set in their different sizes, 17", 24", 31" and 55", controllable from the Atomos App. 4KDCI, 10-bit DIC-P3 with 100% color coverage and its 1,000,000:1 HDR contrast ratio are the features that make the Atomos Neon a revolution in the world of monitor-recorders. It is ideal for an entire film crew, the creator who monitors and corrects via the monitor, the camera and focus assistant, as well as color editors. It is capable of recording every shot in 4Kp60/HDp240 in Apple ProRes RAW.
Perfect your workflow with the perfect complement with other Atomos products, such as Shinobi SDI, Ninja V, Shogun 7 and Sumo 19. Neon gives you the ability to even record small, low-budget productions with HDMI-10-bit up to 12G-SDI 12-Bit in 4KP60 RAW for large productions.
The Atomos Neon is controllable via Bluetooth with the iOS Atomos App or via a physical remote control. Control focus peaking, exposure, calibration, zoom, waveform monitor, RGB color, vectorscope, and LUT in real-time. This remote application allows you to shorten the process between capture and final editing in formats such as ProRes, ProRes RAW, Cinema DNG, and Avid DNx. Name your shots easily with the application once you have your desired image, use the meta data frame by frame and simplify the processes to make it easier for the creator in their artistic and narrative task.
The challenge of the Atomos Neon is to maintain the simultaneous production with the filming while finally being seen on devices such as Televisions. That's why Atomos have teamed up to implement Dolby Vision live via HDMI output, in real-time, from any SDI or HDMI HDR camera. Simply connect your TV or monitor with Dolby Vision technology to the Atomos Neon, and automatically atomos analyze the image, check the TV, and apply the color and brightness profile for the best possible HDR image on your device.
If you have more than one Atomos Neon in your production, you can perfectly synchronize them with each other with the iOS Atomos App. You can easily select the devices you prefer to sync, and you can sync the Neon to any Atomos Ninja V using an AtomX Sync Module. This means that multi-camera recording and monitoring at the same time has never been easier. It also facilitates the flow to import the files into your editing program through the Meta-Data in each file, simply return the content recorded on the SSD into your Editing Suite.
With Dinamyc AtomoHDR technology, the Atomos Neon is able to increase its possibilities in dynamic range, in addition to its contrast ratio with one million divisions, which allows you to achieve the elimination of reflections even in bright environments. This technology allows for full depth, detail , and richness in blacks and colors. The Atomos Neon uses a combination of LED and LCD backlights, which together offer more depth, lower blackness than OLED displays, and more brightness and vivid colors than LCD screens alone. Subjects and objects on screens are more vivid than ever, with fuller textures and gradations than ever before. In short, the Neons offer the best and most detailed image ever seen on a field monitor.
The new Neons are built future-proof, as their innovative Master Control Unit, a replaceable "brain" will allow us to adapt to whatever is to come. This Master Control Unit is compatible with AtomX expansion modules that provide both SDI and NDI connection in addition to the HDMI connection provided by the Neon.
Neon simplifies the workflow by allowing you to record, edit and adjust color in an online environment using ProRes RAW, eliminating the need to adjust to common on/off processes (such as ARRI RAW+Avid DNx).
Shooting in ProRes RAW with the Atomos Neon unlocks the true potential of your cinema camera and gives you the ability to have full control of the image in the best possible quality. The flexibility of RAW with the incredible quality of ProRes in the same file on the SSD. Import and edit without the slightest loss of quality in the process. Flexibility, brightness, and detail in shadows make it the best match for HDR workflows.
