A super telephoto lens that is distinguished by its fast design, the AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II NIKON is characterized by its advanced optical design, fast focusing, and image stabilization. Suitable for sports and wildlife photography, the bright maximum aperture of f/2.8 suits a variety of lighting conditions and also promotes shallow-field work and selective focusing techniques. The optical design includes three extra-low dispersion elements, which help minimize chromatic aberrations and color stripe for greater clarity and color accuracy. Both Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings have also been applied to reduce flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color reproduction. As a complement to the optics, this lens also has a silent wave motor for fast and accurate autofocus along with VR II image stabilization to minimize the appearance of camera shake in three stops.

  • The main super telephoto is designed for F-mount cameras in FX format, however, it can also be used with DX models where it will provide a focal length equivalent to 450 mm.
  • The impressively bright f/2.8 maximum aperture excels in difficult lighting conditions and also allows extensive control over depth of field to isolate subjects using selective focusing techniques.
