The NIKON 50mm f1.8G lens is an attractive alternative to the classic 50mm f/1.4 lens "normal" for everyday shooting with an FX or 35mm camera. The 50mm f/1.8 is as "fast" as the f/1.4 (only 2/3 stops apart), and provides reduced lens reflection and ghosting (more color consistency superior) through the use of the Super Integrated Coating NIKON. An aspherical lens element virtually eliminates coma and other types of aberration.

NIKON silent wave motor offers you smooth and quiet and accurate operation of autofocus and M/A mode allows you to quickly and easily override the autofocus system for good manual focus, with almost no lag time. This lens is also compatible with DX cameras. When used with a DX camera, the viewing angle would be equivalent to 75 mm.
