This is the second prime lens of the new generation D FA (or Star) following in the wake of the PENTAX-D FA★★ 50mm F1.4 SDM AW, the first of this new series. The D FA★ range is known for its superb image quality and its optics are characterized by the following parameters:

● Incorporating three Super ED (extra low dispersion) glass optical elements, it effectively compensates for chromatic aberrations and produces bright, high-contrast images even at maximum aperture.

● It features an aspherical lens that achieves high delineation performance, with good correction of spherical, coma and field curvature aberrations.

● High speed and smooth operation of the new SDM (Supersonic Direct Drive Motor) focusing motor, equipped with a high-torque ring ultrasonic motor.

● Developed as an AW (All Weather) lens, this lens features a sealed, weatherproof structure to prevent the intrusion of water and dust particles inside.
