HASSELBLAD H6x

The medium format digital SLR camera body with H5X grip and HVD 90x Viewfinder from HASSELBLAD is available as an upgrade for H1, H2, H2F and H4X cameras. Like its predecessors, it is a high-performance medium format camera for professional and advanced users with an image format of 56 x 41.5mm

The H5X incorporates H5 technology and versatility including optimized True Focus AF and an improved grip design. It is compatible with H System lenses, CF/CFH backs, numerous third-party digital backs and four different viewfinders. Included in this kit is the HVD 90x viewfinder which is an eye-level viewfinder that provides 3.1x image magnification and diopter adjustment from -5 to +3.5D.It has a built-in flash with guide number 12 at ISO 100 and mount an integrated hot shoe. It is optimized for the 48mm x 36 format.

True Focus with Absolute Position Lock enables true and fast autofocusing over the entire image field and compensates for focus shift accuracy when re-composing. Manual focus drive is supported and an optional manual focus indicator in the viewfinder. Single-shot and continuous AF with focus lock are available and the camera also features AF Illumination Assist for working in dark environments. Eating, Center Spot and Center Weighted exposure metering is supported with manual, aperture priority, shutter speed priority, programmed and programmed variable exposure modes.

The camera offers a wide range of ISO sensitivities from 16 to 6400. A built-in flash on some viewfinders or external flash compatible with SCA3002 can be used with a TTL-OTF center-weighted automatic system with adjustable output from -3 to +3. For manual flashes, a built-in metering system is available and a standard PC connector on the camera body is supported. Flash sync speed is available for 1/800th of a second.

A dot-matrix LCD monitor is provided on the grip for viewing camera setup information. A sharp Matte D-type focusing screen is supplied and the camera also works with numerous optional focusing screens. Eight profile settings allow quick and precise one-button switching to custom settings and the H5X supports four programmable buttons that can be configured to customize up to 35 functions.

The H5X is compatible with all HASSELBLAD HC and HCD lenses and all V system C-type lenses when using an optional CF lens adapter

True Focus and Absolute Position Lock (APL)
True Focus allows fast and accurate focusing over the entire image field. The Absolute Position Lock (APL) processor is the basis of the True Focus option of HASSELBLAD using modern yaw rate sensor technology to measure angular velocity. The APL processor accurately records camera movement during recomposition and then uses these exact measurements to calculate the focus motor programs of the lens so it can compensate for the necessary focus adjustment. The APL processor calculates the positional algorithms and performs the required focus corrections at such a speed that shutter lag does not occur
Lens Compatibility
The H5X is compatible with the highly renowned HC / HCD line of lenses, all with central shutter. The built-in central shutter flash allows it to be used at absolute shutter speeds up to 1/800th second. It also improves image quality by reducing camera shake. The CF adapter allows the use of classic CF lenses from the HASSELBLAD V-camera and the 1.5 tilt/shift HTS adapter provides an easy to use, portable tilt/shift solution for 6 HC/HCD lenses ranging from 24mm to 100mm.
Viewfinder Compatibility
Included in this kit is the HVD 90x viewfinder which is an eye level viewfinder that provides 3.1x image magnification and diopter adjustment from -5 to + 3.5D. It has a built-in flash with 39' guide number at ISO 100 and an integrated hot shoe mount. It is optimized for the 48mm x 36 format. The H5X is also compatible with the HV 90x, HV 90x HV-II and HVM viewfinders. The HV 90x and HV-II 90x are 90º eye-level finderscopes with built-in shoe mounts and hot flash units. The HVM is a waist level scope. The HV 90x-II is optimized for film and the 40.2 x 53.7mm format.
Advanced Exposure Control
Exposure can be controlled by sophisticated exposure automation or with full manual control. Metering options (with the HV 90x-II and HVD 90x) include Spot, Center Spot and Center Weighted. Exposure lock is supported with a separate button on the camera. Exposure modes are manual, aperture priority, shutter speed priority, programmed and programmed variable.
Flash Metering System
The built-in flash metering system is designed to be used when working with manually controlled flashes, such as studio flashes.
Built-in flash and flash adapter
Three compatible viewfinders (HV 90x, 90x HV-II, HVD 90x) feature a compact flash. Although primarily intended for use as a fill flash it can also be used as a main flash in some cases. The flash has a metric guide number of 12, but when used as a fill flash with -2 stops of adjustment it is equal to guide number 24. With the SCA 3902 flash adapter, any flash compatible with the SCA3002 system defined by METZ can be used. This means you can choose between small, compact flashes for extremely portable use, as well as larger, more powerful flashes when required.
Dot matrix LCD
The LCD on the grip and LCD viewfinder is a dot-matrix type. This means that the camera is able to present clear and easy to understand information and messages instead of fixed text and symbols.
Interchangeable Film Magazines
The film magazines for inserts feature H5X camera that can handle both 120 and 220 films. If you use barcoded film (defined by FUJIFILM) the setting of both film type and ISO value is automatic. It is also automatic with all wind film and wind over-off films.
Enhanced Programming
The H5X includes 35 functions that can be customized by the user. It has 4 buttons that can be programmed as shortcuts to the camera's most frequently used functions.
8 Profile Settings
A profile stores all camera settings and can be recalled with a single button. This allows for quick switching to a particular shooting mode, which alleviates setup time, and perhaps most importantly, avoids event errors. The H5X has 8 different in-camera profiles and the function to create and manage profiles directly in Phocus.
High-power AF illumination
A stronger AF illumination light allows for more accurate autofocus when shooting in low light.
