The microphone uses an omnidirectional pickup pattern that picks up sound from any direction, allowing freedom of movement, even when the subject moves away from the microphone. The included crocodile-type microphone clip holds the microphone firmly on clothing. The 6.5' cable offers enough length to be located at an optimal distance in front of the camera. The microphone is powered through your iOS device, so you won't have to remember to change the battery, and a foam windshield is included to protect you from outside wind noise.

Cable of multiple sections and uses

The cable consists of two sections: a first section with the lav microphone at one end and a 3.5mm female TRS connector at the other, and a second section with a 3.5mm male TRS connector at one end and an MFi-certified Lightning connector at the other. This two-section cable facilitates a multi-purpose. Use the first section of the cable to direct the microphone to iOS devices that still offer conventional 3.5mm connectors. Conversely, the second section can be used to connect the lav microphone or any audio device with a 3.5mm TRS output (including wireless receivers and media players) to your iPhone or iPad.
