The Sony Alpha 7s + Atomos Shogun camera is a very interesting option if what you want to have in your 4K video recordings, a monitor / recorder which generates an image file of superior and uncompressed quality
The SONY Alpha A7S digital mirrorless camera features a full-frame 12.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor to enable remarkable video and still image quality with wide dynamic range, low noise, and sensitivity to ISO 409600 extended. At the sensor level This full-frame sensor features a unique design in the gapless lens chip, which incorporates small lenses between neighboring pixels in order to increase light-gathering efficiency and promote higher image quality across the entire sensor plane. The sensor and processor combination also avails a wealth of speed across the camera system, including a maximum continuous shooting rate of 5 fps, support for 4K video recording, and a 25-point contrast-detection AF system fast with sensitivity at -4 EV.
Beyond its still image performance, the A7S is also very adept when it comes to video recording. It is capable of output uncompressed 04:02:02 UHD 4K uncompressed video to an optional external recorder via HDMI, as well as recording full 1080p HD video in the high-quality XAVC S format at 50 Mbps at various frame rates. Expanding the video recording capabilities is support for S-Log2 gamma, which helps expand the effective dynamic range during recording, as well as picture profile options, timecode, and zebra marker display aids. Sound can be recorded in linear AAC / PCM format via the internal stereo microphone, with a built-in headphone jack for on-board monitoring, or via an external microphone.
Rounding out the A7S's imaging capabilities, both a 921.6k-dot 3.0" tilting LCD monitor and 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder are available for monitoring and reviewing. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, with support for NFC, is available, too, for instant sharing of camera images, as well as remote control of the camera from a linked mobile device.
