Alpha DSLR-A900 SONY Digital SLR Camera, its first "full frame" model, has alerted industry and consumers in the DSLR world that they are in the DSLR camera business for the long term.

The DSLR-A900 starts with a 24 x 35.9mm CMOS sensor size developed especially for this camera. Although that image canvas is totally full of pixels, the pixels themselves dominate the landscape of the image reception area, rather than the elements of the image sensors that are necessary, but not actually picking up the image. In fact, the A900's pixels are larger than the Alpha 700-grade consumer fine, despite having twice as many pixels.

On the physical side of things, the Alfa designed for professional use: all operations are time-sealed, testing your high-performance blind at 100,000 cycles, and your viewfinder (the critical SLR element forgotten in the era of squinty APS-C size visor domain) is as good as the most. Despite these claims, along with the batteries and memory card tip the scale at ~2 pounds (900 g), a good competitive number especially considering the pleasant point of view.

Beyond the physical elements, he got the DSLR-A900 lot of brains. To accelerate performance for professional sports and action utilization, SONY processors employed dual "BIONZ" image. Its two analog-to-digital motors swallow large chunks of information, pushing up to ~5 frames per second on a rather bold high-speed card memory capacity considering those large RAW files.

With its image quality, ease of handling, robust construction and brilliant viewfinder, the DSLR-A900 should be a serious tool for professionals and advanced consumers. The benefits of 'full picture' are plentiful; better dynamic range, more natural skin interpretation, a comfortable viewing experience and ability superior to blur backgrounds. Super wide-angle zooms will start at the focal lengths professional instruments more own, and are flooded into the second-hand market.

35mm-Style "Full Frame" 24.6MP Exmor CMOS Sensor
The 35mm sized "Exmor" 35.9 x 24mm CMOS image sensor is ~2.35 times larger than typical APS-C size sensors, and the wide capture area provides more sharpness, tonal graduation and depth of field control. Best of all, the pixels themselves dominate the square meters.
World-Class Viewer
Crystal pentaprism optical viewfinder with 100% coverage, 0.74x magnification, and 20mm eye relief. Low magnification makes the canvas composition small, distant, and unengaging. Large magnification makes eye relief from an impossibly short viewfinder for glasses wearers. Getting so much right gives an ideal conduit between ideas and images. Although difficult to have much eye relief and full coverage without odiously large glass on top of an SLR, SONY achieved here. Beyond the numbers, the brightness, size, and viewing comfort of this viewfinder brings the main element of camera/user interaction back to the foreground. There is also a built-in blind shutter and integrates -3-1 diopter correction, and bringing it into view unhooks the LCD screen.
Construction Professional
The time, dust, and sealing impact corresponds to a professional SLR camera, and the DSLR-A900's carbon fiber shutter is of high specification; tested for a min.100,000 cycles, its 1/8000th second speed and the synchronization flash superior with any flash in 1/250th second (1/200a with stabilizer activated) will show its manufacturing strength.
Full Frame Stabilization "SteadyShot INSIDE"
Alpha 900 in the stabilization chamber redefines common belief; a reassuring effect of speed steps ~ 4 shutter, but with a full frame. Previous in the stabilization camera corrected movements of ~ 15x22mm image reception areas within 24 x 36mm 'full frame' confines, as in the camera itself was believed full-frame correction resulting in higher widths, and the accommodations, thicker. At 6.1 x 4.6 x 3.2" (156 x 117 x 82mm), it's not too big a camera, a bit thick, but within professional DSLR standards. The stabilizer works with all lenses mounted, rather than being an expensive and occasional component within the lenses. As with all stabilizers, they don't accelerate blinds—it's just lighter, a higher ISO, or larger openings can do that. Stabilizers benefit typical low-light photos, as well as the handling of monster telephoto lenses.
