The NIKON 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 G ED VR AF-S lens is an FX format lens, which also supports the DX format of DSLR cameras. The lens features a wide zoom range from wide-angle to telephoto super perspectives, and closely focuses down at 18" at each focal length.

VR II image stabilization compensates for camera shake by providing up to 3.5 shutter speeds shake control stops to allow images taken by hand in low light and at tele focal lengths. The silent wave motor autofocus system provides a smooth and silent AF action that is particularly useful when recording video. For precise lens focus it provides an M/A focus mode that allows the photographer to quickly switch between manual and autofocus modes.

The optical construction includes two extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements that reduce aberrations to provide sharp, more accurate color images throughout the frame. Lens elements have been treated with super integrated coating NIKON – an optical lens coating process that maximizes light transmission while improving clarity and contrast. An opening of 9 rounded leaves helps to create pleasant outstanding backgrounds.
