Smaller and lighter, Zhiyun-Tech's CRANE-M2 3-axis handheld gimbal stabilizer is designed for compact cameras, smartphones, and action cameras up to 1.58 pounds (an optional mounting accessory is required to place action cameras). The design allows you to maneuver your camera more freely and for longer periods. It's also easier to pack with you and take it with you, either nearby or when traveling. Apart from this, the CRANE-M2 provides the standard features that have made gimbals such a revolutionary addition to the world of camera mounts.

The CRANE-M2 offers 360° rotation, 310° tilt and 324° rotation in six operating modes, including POV and Vortex modes. It works for about seven hours on a built-in battery that is rechargeable via an included micro-USB cable. With the built-in Wi-Fi, the gimbal can be synchronized with a Wi-Fi-enabled camera that supports zoom, shutter, and video start/stop remote control. These functions can be operated from a zoom control and other controls on the gimbal. In addition, via built-in Bluetooth, the camera syncs with a free download ZY Play mobile app for iOS and Android for additional capabilities. The app provides remote control over many functions of the gimbal and also has filming functions such as time lapse, panorama, and slow-motion capture.

An OLED display on the gimbal confirms the selected mode of operation, battery level, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi status, and other functions. The CRANE-M2 features a quick-release camera mounting system that allows you to secure or remove your camera at the push of a lock button. Scale marks and memory locks help you balance the camera and lock the balance position for the camera used. A hand strap and mini tripod are also supplied with the gimbal. The mini tripod is placed at the bottom to function as a tripod or stand, but it can also be used as an extension to give you even more control over the gimbal and camera as you will have a better grip on it.

Six modes of operation

PF Mode
The camera rotates as you rotate the gimbal left and right. This feature is useful for Hyperlapse capture and traveler images.
Mode f
The camera will follow the movements of the gimbal handle.
Mode l
The direction of the camera is locked so that a shot is not missed in any situation.
POV Mode
The Crane-M2 offers a full-range POV mode, which allows for 360° synchronous movement on all three axes. Instead of leveling during movement, the camera will remain locked in position no matter how or how far the gimbal moves, allowing true POV shots to be obtained.
Vortex Mode
Vortex mode gives you the freedom to shoot 360° barrel shots in all dimensions.
