• 26MP APS-C/Super 35mm EXMOR R BSI CMOS sensor

The FX30's advanced imaging system is on par with other options in SONY's Cinema lineup: it captures detailed 10-bit 4K UHD images at up to 120fps, giving you specs that fit a true cinema camera. The new 26MP Exmor R APS-C CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor can create high-quality 4K images with the Super 35mm (16:9) area. This system is capable of capturing more than 14 stops of dynamic range and benefits from dual-base ISO architecture to improve low-light performance.

1. S-Cinetone uses the same color science as SONY's advanced cinema cameras, including the VENICE line, with natural midtones, soft colors, and soft dimming of lights.
2. Image profiles, such as S-Log3 and HLG, will capture images with expanded dynamic range and flexibility for editors.
3. Creative Aspects can be integrated into recorded footage to create a specific mood during recording and minimize the need for editing.
4. Up to 16 user-created LUTs and three presets can be configured to accurately monitor footage or preview a specific aspect during filming. These can be applied to the camera monitor or EVF as well as the HDMI output.

• Operation for all levels

Professional features will help ensure that beginners and professionals can get the most out of the FX30. This includes three log firing modes:

1. Flexible ISO uses standard ISO settings for simple operation and the greatest flexibility.
2. Cine EI ensures maximum dynamic range capture by recording to a manually selected base ISO setting and applying adjustments to metadata for monitoring and post-production.
3. Cine EI quick will automatically switch between the two basic ISO settings for easier operation and great quality.

• Fast hybrid AF

Enjoy high-speed, high-precision autofocus performance in all modes, including 4K up to 120fps, using an advanced fast hybrid AF system that uses 495 points spread across 90% of the image sensor.

Real-time Eye AF and Real-Time Tracking will track the eyes of humans and animals.

AF Assist will automatically switch to manual focus with a twist of the lens focus ring.

• 5-axis in-body image stabilization

Sony has equipped the FX30 with a 5-axis in-body image stabilization system that will help create smooth images even when working with the handheld. An active mode is available that combines optical systems with digital optimizations to capture ultra-smooth images. The FX30 can also record gyroscope movement when the optical stabilizers are off, which can be used in post-production to create a stable shot.

10-18mm f/4 Super Wide Angle zoom

This lens offers a constant maximum aperture of f/4 across the entire focal length range, allowing the use of the widest aperture at each focal length. Even in low-light environments, such as outdoors at dusk, users will be able to take advantage of the bright aperture and use faster shutter speeds without unnecessarily increasing ISO sensitivity. The 10-18mm (15-27mm in 35mm format) offers an ultra wide-angle zoom for photographing landscapes, in tight spaces or with creative exaggerated perspectives.

Image Stabilization

Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization system provides a 4-stop (approximate) shutter speed advantage, making it much easier to achieve crisp, undefined free images and video.

Optics

Three aspherical lens elements correct spherical aberration and distortion, making it possible to capture high-contrast, high-quality images with much less bleeding, even at maximum aperture. In addition, the optical system uses Super Extra-low dispersion glass, making very detailed images with reduced color aberration, even at the focal length of 10 mm.
