The fisheye lens NIKON 16mm f2.8 D AF is an extreme wide-angle lens that is compatible with full-screen (FX) format cameras. It provides a 180º viewing angle that fills the picture of the image, making it ideal for use with indoor subjects as well as wide outdoor objects and even portraiture with intentionally distorted features. The fast f/2.8 Maximum Aperture makes low-light photography suitable, as well as control over its focal plane for use with shallow depth of field and selective focus applications.

The Close Range System (CRC) correction allows for sharp, more detailed image quality when focusing on topics as close as 9.8"/25cm. Super Integrated Coating (SIC) is a multilayer coating on the lens elements that helps provide a reduction in lens flare and ghosting while improving contrast and overall image quality. The lens is compact and especially lightweight, providing a built-in system in the lens visor to deflect unwanted light and protect the 'front element of the lens.' It also includes 4 bayonet-type filters that they attach on the back of the lens. This lens autofocus feature is compatible with NIKON DSLRs offering a built-in autofocus motor. It does not support autofocus when used with certain DSLR cameras that do not feature an integrated focus motor, such as the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D3200, D3300, D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300.
