The AF NIKKOR 24-85mm f/2.8-4D SI NIKON lens offers wide-angle to telephoto short perspectives in the FX format and an equivalence focal length 36-127.5mm when used in a DX-format DSLR. Its variable aperture offers a maximum of f/2.8 at the wide-angle end for effective low-light capability and depth of field control. Its compact construction and versatile focal range makes it an ideal lens for travel and everyday use.

Its internal focusing system allows the use of front end filters without unwanted rotation and an aperture control ring offers smooth manual exposure control, in addition to automatic exposure through the camera body. With a macro mode on the telephoto end, this lens offers effective close-ups with a 1:2 playback ratio. Two aspherical elements reduce aberrations and Super Integrated Coating NIKON lens minimizes ghosting and glare.

This lens autofocus feature is compatible with NIKON DSLRs offering a built-in autofocus motor. It does not support autofocus when used with certain DSLR cameras that do not feature an integrated focus motor, such as the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D3200, D3300, D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300.
