The FUJIFILM X-M1 is equipped with a large APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor, which offers image quality comparable to full-frame sensors. The sensor's unique color filter matrix minimizes moiré and chromatic aberrations without the need for an optical low-pass filter, while dramatically increasing resolution capability with the same number of pixels to produce sharp, texture-rich images. 

The design takes full advantage of the potential of high-performance lenses. It delivers clear images with incredibly low noise levels in low-light conditions, at night and indoors, where high sensitivity would normally be required. The sensor faithfully reproduces the warm tones of human skin and the intense colors of the sky, from deep blues to reddish hues of the sunset.

Users can adjust the sensor's sensitivity from the normal 200 ISO to 6400 ISO in 1/3 stop increments, and can even take advantage of the extended range of 12800 ISO and 25600 ISO for incredibly clear, noise-free images in low light or at night.

Fast response thanks to EXR II processor

The EXR II processor enables stress-free photo shoots with a boot time of 0.5 seconds (*1), a shutter release delay of 0.05 seconds, and a maximum burst rate of 5.6 frames per second (max. 30 frames*2).

Designed to enable one-handed operation with intuitive and fast feature selection for unexpected shots with spectacular results.

All adjustable buttons and dials are located on the right side of the camera's rear LCD panel for maximum manageability and ease of use in unforeseen shooting. When holding the camera with only the right hand, the location of the buttons has been designed to allow access to all functions and make the necessary adjustments easily.

The mode dial allows you to select the optimal scene setting with access to [SR Auto Advanced] mode, which automatically recognizes the scene type for fail-safe photography, and the [Advanced Filter] function for fine art photography.

The camera is equipped with two control dials, which allow users to quickly adjust aperture, shutter speed and exposure compensation with their thumb. Specific buttons are also included to access frequently used functions such as white balance, burst mode and macro, so there's no need to go to the menu screen for every setting change, allowing for quick and intuitive operation.

Compact and lightweight body with a design that is both modern and retro inherited from the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 and X-E1

The X-M1 conveys a classic and elegant feel like the popular FUJIFILM X-Pro1 and X-E1 cameras. Most importantly, thanks to its lightweight, compact design and size about half that of a regular DSLR body (66.5mm high and 39.0mm deep), users can comfortably carry it in a bag without having to worry about it bulging too much.

The X-M1 weighs just 330 grams(*3) despite incorporating a large APS-C CMOS sensor, a tiltable high-definition LCD screen, a built-in flash, wireless image transfer and a contact shoe. 

The X-M1 will be available in three colors: black, silver and brown.

The 3-inch high-definition LCD screen tilts up and down, making it easy to shoot at ground level of flowers and pets and also shoot above a crowd of people. It is also suitable for recording video on a tripod to expand your shooting style.

FUJIFILM Super i-Flash technology regulates flash intensity according to the scene

The X-M1's built-in, high-precision flash, rated equivalent to guide number 7 (*4), uses FUJIFILM's Super i-Flash technology to regulate the amount of light it emits depending on the scene. In low-light interior portraits or close-ups of food accessories/dishes, flash controls its intensity to reduce areas burned by excess light. It also offers the perfect fill flash for photographing people backlit or in bright sunlight that casts shadows on the face.

Wireless image transfer allows you to instantly transfer high-quality images to a mobile device or computer

The wireless image transfer feature allows users to immediately transfer their photos to their smartphone or computer. It increases the enjoyment of photography by allowing you to easily upload your favorite images to social media or share them with your friends.

The camera has a built-in wireless image transfer function that uses the dedicated "FUJIFILM Camera App", which can be downloaded free of charge, to transfer and save your favorite photos to a smartphone or tablet. You can transfer the pictures you want with the Wi-Fi button to upload them to social networks or share them with your friends.

Users can also view and import images and videos to the camera from a smartphone or tablet. The feature can also pull location data from your smartphone to incorporate into photo information.

Get creative with your photography using the popular special effects included in the camera

With the eight advanced filters, users can add special effects before capturing the image: toy camera, thumbnail, dynamic tone, pop color, anti-aliasing focus, high key, low key and partial color. The camera also offers a multiple exposure mode that allows you to superimpose a second exposure on top of the first for a really creative touch.

In addition, the film simulation modes incorporate five different effects that emulate the look captured by old photographic films: Provia (standard) for natural color reproduction, Velvia (intense) for saturated tones, Astia (soft) for smooth gradation, sepia and black and white.

Full HD video recording

The FUJIFILM X-M1 can record Full HD (1920x1080) video at 30 frames per second. Creative effects can be added when shooting video with film simulation options such as black and white, and an attractive bokeh effect can be obtained with the large sensor at the maximum aperture

FUJINON XC16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS lens (24-76mm equivalent) (*5

The compact and lightweight XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS zoom lens (24mm-76mm equivalent) (*1)  will be introduced as a kit lens with the X-M1 and is designed to perfectly complement the camera with a focal range of 24mm to 76mm(*1). It is ideal for different types of scenes such as interior photography, landscapes and snapshots.

The XC16-50mm lens consists of 12 all-glass elements in 10 groups and includes three aspherical elements and an ED element. It incorporates seven rounded aperture blades with 17 stops in 1/3 EV increments for precise aperture control.

The use of lightweight lens elements and a high-precision motor has enabled FUJIFILM to achieve high autofocus speeds. In combination with optical image stabilization, the lens ensures you won't miss any shooting opportunities.

The lens will be available in two variants: black and silver.
