The LEICA M7 camera is, above all, an instrument of technical precision as every LEICA M has been before, but thanks to the specific use of the most modern electronics it is, at the same time, the most versatile and accurate LEICA M of all time. For example, if desired, it is possible to activate the convenient aperture priority mode and thus devote all attention to focus and framing.


Features:

  • Automatic exposure time control together with the usual manual shutter speed control, the M7 LEICA incorporates a convenient automatic control of exposure time without steps with memory on the shutter button. After selecting the aperture, calculate in correct exposure time. Even prolonged exposures up to 32 seconds are possible.
  • Shutter:The rubberized fabric focal plane shutter of all LEICA M cameras has been completely overhauled and completed with electronic shutter speed control. Two fully mechanical shutter speeds – 1/60 and 1/125 of a second – ensure that the camera is ready for action even if the batteries fail.
  • Viewfinder screen:the viewfinder screen presents all the information required for a perfect exposure at once and in an optical position: in automatic mode the LEDs indicate the shutter speed, and the manual mode the recognized light balance system has been preserved. A flash symbol indicates the layout and success of the flash operation. The brightness of the screen automatically adapts to the ambient light ensuring optimal visibility in all conditions.
  • DX Encoding:In the M7 leica , the sensitivity of the movie can not only be indicated manually, but can also be set automatically using the DX encoding option. For exposure correction in automatic mode there is a manual control of +/- two diaphragms on the back of the camera.
  • Flash:Together with the exposure measurement for TTL flash already known in the M6 TTL LEICA , the M7 LEICA offers much more potential for the use of flash. Thanks to a high-speed synchronization (HSS) function, a flash synchro speed up to 1/10000th of a second is possible. You can also change the synchronization of the flash to the second curtain.
  • Exposure measurement: As with the M6 TTL LEICA , the M7 LEICA 's selective exposure system delivers accurate results even when shooting backlights with spot illumination or oblique side lighting, resulting in excellent colours, brightness and contrast.
