Since the launch in 1992 of its first versatile high-power, high-performance zoom, the 28-200mm (model 71D), TAMRON has continued to expand its range of powerful zooms. In response to the growing popularity of full-frame digital SLR cameras, TAMRON now launches a new high-power full-frame lens with PZD (Piezo Drive), a standing wave ultrasonic motor optimized for fast and quiet autofocus, along with the renowned VC (vibration compensation) mechanism and new high-quality aesthetic finish and design. This 28-300mm All-In-One lens™ provides excellent image quality with a very compact and lightweight design and is the result of years of an extensive technological development program of TAMRON.

State-of-the-art optical design technology for superior image quality

The advanced optical construction of this lens includes four LD (low dispersion) crystal elements, three molded glass aspherical elements, a hybrid aspherical element, an XR (extra refractive index) crystal element, and a UXR (ultra extra refractive index) crystal element, whose refractive index is higher than XR. The use of specialized glass elements throughout the design of this extraordinary lens contributes to making it as compact and lightweight as possible, while minimizing aberrations and obtaining superior image quality.

PZD (FTM) The PZD ultrasonic motor allows for a noticeably faster and quieter autofocus, which is ideal for capturing those spontaneous moments with a sharp image. It also offers the possibility of manually adapting the targeting at any time.

VC Image Stabilization (Vibration Compensation) the proven VC image stabilizer of TAMRON (vibration compensation) allows the lens to take sharp photographs and prevents them from moving out. In this way, the lens can also be used perfectly for shooting with a portable device or in low light.
