The 16-85mm f AF-S DX NIKKOR/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens from NIKON is a compact and lightweight lens, with all zoom functions covering a wide focal range of the 5.3x zoom, and is ideal for a wide range of shooting situations. It is compatible for use with DSLR cameras from NIKON with the smallest DX format sensor. This lens offers an equivalent focal length in 35mm terms of 24-127.5mm. It will conveniently cover everything from tight interior portraits to medium telephoto lens.

The Enhanced Vibration Reduction System (VRII) allows handheld telephoto zoom shooting even in low light conditions. It minimizes blurry images caused by camera shake, and offers the equivalent of shooting at a faster shutter speed of 3.5 stops. The Super Integrated Coating NIKON used in this lens minimizes ghosting and brightness to provide even greater contrast and the most vivid images, even in difficult light conditions. Three elements of aspherical lenses virtually eliminate coma and other types of aberration from the lens, even when used in the widest aperture and two extra low dispersion glass elements provide superior sharpness and color correction by effectively minimizing chromatic aberration.

The silent wave motor appears on this lens allows for fast, accurate and quiet autofocus action which is particularly important when recording high-definition video and with an internal focusing system, only the internal lens clusters move during focusing and the lens does not extend. This Nikkor G-type lens is designed without aperture rings, and offers easier AE operation.
