Designed for refined imaging, the LEICA SE (Typ 006) is a medium format DSLR camera with a 45 x 30mm 37.5MP CCD sensor to produce high-resolution images with remarkable sharpness, clarity and dynamic range. The omission of an optical low-pass filter from the sensor design also allows for greater detail and resolution, which pairs well with optimized LEICA S lenses. Moreover, the microlenses sensor work to produce a homogeneous and uniform distribution of light to ensure sharpness and edge-to-edge illumination of a high degree of overall clarity. With a focus on simplicity and maximum image quality, SE capabilities benefit those who value both performance quality and image, all within a durable and efficient design. Image quality is accentuated by efficient performance and processing capabilities, aided by the built-in 2GB buffer to capture up to 32 consecutive DNG-free compressed files at a continuous shooting rate of 1.5 fps. When working with fast-moving subjects, an intelligent cross-point AF center helps produce accurate focus and a predictive algorithm works to ensure sharpness when photographing moving subjects. Complementing the advanced imaging capabilities of the LEICA SE is an equally refined body design, which acquires a minimalist structure with the focus on the most essential shooting controls. A large, 3.0" LCD-921.6k dot monitor serves as a clear medium for image review and menu navigation, while the large 0.86x magnification of the pentaprism viewfinder acts as a brilliant tool for image composition. A time-sealed body construction protects the system from dust and moisture, and an anthracite dial and shoe complement the overall design and appearance of the camera.



LEICA Pro Format CMOS Sensor
A large, 37.5MP, 45 x 30mm, CCD sensor truly enables high-resolution images with a native sensitivity of ISO 100 to ISO 1600 The large size of the sensor helps produce noticeable image sharpness and clarity with smooth tonal and color gradations. In addition, the sensor design allows the omission of a traditional optical low-pass filter to achieve even greater sharpness and image resolution. Microlensings have also been incorporated into the sensor design to ensure light distribution and sharpness from edge to edge.
Fast and efficient performance
An integrated 2GB buffer complements the speed of the Master image processor and makes it easy to record up to 32 consecutive 37.5MP DNG lossless compressed files at a continuous shooting rate of 1.5fps. When shooting in JPEG format, the total number of consecutive images recorded is only limited by the capacity of the memory card.
Intuitive operation
Housing imaging system is a robust, dust and climate sealed, magnesium alloy body with a non-slip rubber cover for durability and refined handling. A line superior anthracite and shoe also contribute to the overall aesthetic and functional appearance. A rear, 3.0", 921.6k dots, LCD monitor is available for image review and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass for greater protection and greater clarity of vision. Alternatively, an eye-level pentaprism viewfinder is also available and features 0.86x magnification for clear visibility in a variety of work situations. Inside the viewfinder, an array of camera settings information can also be displayed, including an electronic level, exposure time and settings, flash status, focus indicator, number of remaining shots, and measurement methods. The rear of the camera is also presented in an intuitive way for controlling accelerated settings using a joystick-based control method. Both a flash sync port and the hot shoe are available for external flash support and a contact bar at the base of the camera is designed to accept an optional S multifunctional handheld for improved handling in vertical shooting orientation.

Interface and Power Support
Two memory card slots take advantage of the use of SD and CompactFlash cards simultaneously. Files can be recorded to both cards or, alternatively, the cards can be configured to accept overflow files or to save DNG files to one card and JPEG files to the other. The included rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack LEICA S, with a capacity of 2100mAh, allows for approximately 1,000 shots per charge.
