Micro TLeica- R -4/3 Speed Booster mounting adapters designed exclusively for the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5k (BMCC). Note that the new speed boosters will only be attached to the Blackmagic cameras equipped with a Micro-4/3 mount. Cannot connect to Micro 4/3 standard cameras.

The new Speed Booster 0.64x reduces the BMCC's full-frame crop factor from 2.39x 1.53x to effectively transform it into a Super-35 cinema format camera. In addition, the speed of any coupled lens is increased by 11/3 stops,with a maximum output aperture of f/0.80. For example, a 50mm f/1.2 becomes a 32mm f/0.80 (i.e. by using a 50mm lens,the actual focal length in BMCC is 32mm x 2.39 = 76.48mm),and the new 18-35mm SIGMA f/1.8 it will become an 11.5-22.5mm f/1.1. (i.e. by using 18-35mm lenses, the actual focal length in BMCC is from (11.5 mm x 2.39 = 27.49mm) to (22.5 mm x 2.39 = 53.78mm).

The Metabones LEICA R to Blackmagic Cinema Camera Speed Booster Allows You to Mount an R-LEICA Lens on a Blackmagic Cinema Camera, while using custom optics to increase the angle of view and the maximum aperture of the lens.

The Speed Booster works by reducing the image circle of your lens LEICA R to a better fit to the smaller sensor of the Blackmagic Cinema camera. This has the effect of making the angle of view of the lens of 0.64x wider or, in other words, reducing the camera crop factor from 2.39x to 1.53x. This provides a viewing angle similar to the APS-C or Super 35 size sensors.

When the Speed Booster concentrates the image circle of a lens, the brightness of the image is increased by 1 1/3

stops, with a maximum output aperture of f/0.9 when using an f/1.4 lens LEICA R. In addition to lens speed and angle of view, the Speed Booster also increases the lens' MTF, or how faithfully the lens transfers detail from the object to the camera sensor. These mtF increases are seen in the cornersas well as the center of the images. For the added lens holder, a detachable Ark tripod type foot is included.

Super telephoto lenses like the Telyt 560/5.6 can Vignette in the corners.
