This new model has been designed to be the successor to the K-5 PENTAX (released in October 2010),which was very well received thanks to its compact,solid and functional body and its high image quality reproduction. The K-5II PENTAX has highly advanced features and interface functions, including a newly developed AF sensor that ensures a quick and adequate response for the most demanding situations.

The K-5II has a new high-sensitivity SAFOX X AF module. Thanks to the sensitivity of the AF sensor, which works brilliantly in low-light conditions, this new module offers a wide range of EV AF operation (-3EV to 18 eV). ). SAFOX X can work as if it were a level of F2.8 being at F5.6, increasing af accuracy when used with ultrasonic lenses.
