The 18-105mm f AF-S DX NIKKOR/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens from NIKON is a versatile wide-angle DX format telephoto zoom lens from NIKON DSLRs. With DX sensors provides the full frame of focal length equivalence of 27-157.5mm incorporating wide-angle to telephoto perspectives. Complementing its multi-application capabilities is a lightweight and compact construction and angular zoom ring.

The 18-105mm silent wave motor produces fast, quiet, smooth autofocus performance with full-day manual focus override for precise manual control when needed. This AF motor is very useful when tracking moving objects and its silent operation benefits video recording. Reducing the image stabilization vibration of NIKON compensates against blur caused by camera movement and offers the possibility of holding the camera at shutter speeds up to 3.5 points slower than would be possible. VR is particularly beneficial when shooting at telephoto focal lengths and in low light and the stabilization effect can be seen in the viewfinder, making image composition and capture easier.

The optical design of the lens includes an aspherical element and an extra-low glass element for dispersion minimizes aberrations and distortion for sharp and accurate color images. Super integrated lens coating improves light transmission, reducing reflections and ghosting. The minimum focusing distance of this 18-105mm lens is 17.7" and its front filter thread diameter is 67mm.
