Cactus V6 II

The Cactus V6 II is the second generation of the world's first wireless transmitter suitable for all brands – the devices will now come with HIGH SPEED SYNC (HSS) !!!!!

Just as the V6 simultaneously controls external flashes of different brands such as CANON, FUJI, NIKON, OLYMPUS, PANASONIC or PENTAX with remote power control, the new generation now has the HSS/FF mode for the same brands.

Cactus V6 II

The Cactus V6 II is the world's first wireless flash trigger that supports between high-speed synchronization (HSS) brands and can control the power output and zoom angle of CANON, Fujifilm, NIKON, OLYMPUS, PANASONIC and PENTAX system all flashes at the same time,

  1. Normal HSS: Supports shutter speed up to 1/8000s.
  2. Synchronization power: Increases the contribution of superior inflammation to the X synchronization speed of the camera, ideal for extreme conditions where normal HSS is not powerful enough. 2

Cactus also extends FSS capabilities to Fujifilm cameras even though they still don't support high-speed synchronization at the time of writing.

AF Help

Both the V6 II and IIs now have an automatic LED AF assist light that makes autofocus in dark environments possible - even in echó-black 3 In addition to the V6 mounted camera II/IIs, the off-camera units will also activate the auxiliary AF light, favoring them even when the camera is far from the subject.

Very smart

V6 II can now automatically detect portable flashes in the camera on the start-up device by selecting the flash system it belongs to and assigning an automatic flash profile. On the other hand, it now works with digital-only TTL flash models not previously supported in the V6 and expands its compatibility. Similarly, the V6 II will automatically detect the camera and select the system accordingly. 4. This simple plug-and-play makes commissioning extremely fast and easy that amateurs and professionals appreciate.

Flash Personalization Profile

Users can manually choose from more than 60 popular flash models of CANON, NIKON, PENTAX, OLYMPUS, PANASONIC, METZ, Nissin, etc., if they wish. And for those who demand the maximum exact power outputs that can be adjusted each power level using the Cactus Profile Editor, a computer-installed software that allows the saving of up to 10 custom flash profiles.

Power to distance and zoom control

In addition to the power remote, the zoom remote control is now available for all compatible TTL flashes, which was only available on the RF60 series Cactus wireless flash before. This will give photographers much faster controls by swapping the power and zoom settings controls directly on the V6 II.

Multi-master

The V6 II now allows multiple photographers shooting outside the camera to blink at the same time. This is not only great for weddings and events, it is also ideal for photography workshops.

Main features:

    1. Between manual power dials and wireless zoom control with HSS support from CANON, Fujifilm, NIKON, OLYMPUS, PANASONIC and PENTAX flashes;
    2. Two brand transverse high-speed synchronization modes:
      1. Normal HSS supports shutter speeds up to 1/8000s;
      2. Being able to synchronize increases the contribution of superior inflammation to the camera's X synchronization speed;
    3. Multiple masters support up to 20 photographers shooting the same set of flashes in their own power settings;
    4. Aid AF light assists focus on light environment;
    5. Flash profile customization allows to guarantee an exact power output;
    6. Work in an integrated way with the RF60 series to support HSS and be able to synchronize;
    7. Other useful features inherit from the V6 including:
      1. The Power
      2. Absolute power
      3. Pass-through TTL
      4. Group Sequence
      5. Sports Shutter

Compatibility Notes:

  • Cactus V6 II does not support cactus V6 in the current firmware. After upgrading to a new firmware (pending version) on the V6, V6 II will support backwards within the camera's X sync speed;
  • Cactus V6 (RX) does not support normal HSS when activated by the V6 II;
  • Cactus V6 (RX) supports being able to synchronize by updating new firmware (standby version) when triggered by V6 II;
  • Cactus RF60 (RX) supports normal HSS and being able to synchronize by updating new firmware (version 200 and following) when triggered by V6 II;
  • Cactus V6 II does not work with any other flash trigger model including Cactus V4, V2 or V2;
  • Cactus V6 II does not transmit TTL information wirelessly;
  • Cactus V6 II is not compatible with flashes or strobe lights with reverse polarity connectors;
  • Cactus V6 II is compatible with virtually all cameras that come with (1) an ISO standard hot shoe, or (2) a female sync port connection;
  • Cactus V6 II supports the V5 Transceiver wireless flash and laser shutter release for the basic LV5 shutter activation and release flash.
  • Test camera(s) that does not support high-speed sync modes on the V6 II Cactus :
      - Fujifilm X-E2 (Updated: 18 July 2016)
      - Fujifilm X100T (Updated: 7 September 2016)
      - Fujifilm X-T2 (Updated: 9 September 2016)
  • Cactus V6 II is compatible with the O-MD E-M1 OLYMPUS . However, some examples of the E-M1 come with a thicker-than-usual spring plate hot metal shoe that has to be removed when working with the V6 II. Check out how to remove the spring plaque in this discussion forum thread. (Updated: 5 August 2016)
  • Cactus V6 II is compatible with the Lumix DMC-GX8 PANASONIC . However, due to the special synchronization requirements the camera only supports HSS up to 1/4,000s. (Updated: September 1, 2016)

1 With the exception of the system flashes PENTAX due to special time requirements so it must be paired with a PENTAX camera in order to support HSS.

2. Synchronization power may require the user to adjust the synchronization time in order to eliminate any banding problems (black line through the image).

3 AF assist works when the camera sends a corresponding signal.

4 For auto-sensing camera system, medium pressure on the camera shutter release while turning on the V6 II to TX mode.
