The compact camera LEICA D-Lux (Typ 109) Explorer Kit high performance LEICA D-Lux incorporates a zoom lens LEICA DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 mm f/1.7–2.8 ASPH. very bright with a focal range of 24 to 75 mm equivalent in 35 mm format. Compared to the previous model, it offers a larger Four Thirds sensor, which in combination with this lens ensures a superior image quality in all photographic situations. It incorporates a wide range of functions, with automatic mode, manual adjustment options and improved video capability, and now includes an improved electronic viewfinder with 2.8 MP resolution and a Wi-Fi module. The D-Lux LEICA has a very intuitive operating concept, which together with its elegant and classic design will be an ideal companion to capture unique moments in photographs of impressive quality with a wide level of creative freedom.

The vario-Summilux 10.9–34mm f/1.7–2.8 ASPH DC LEICA zoom lens. the D-Lux LEICA blends perfectly with the camera's large sensor. With an impressive maximum ISO sensitivity of 25600, the D-Lux guarantees photographs with natural colors and exceptional quality especially when used in ambient light situations. In addition, the versatile zoom lens makes it an ideal camera for almost all photographic genres – from portraits to landscapes, from architecture to macro, and for the specialty of LEICA cameras, reportage photography.

The camera's video capabilities add extra to its already great versatility, allowing the recording of movies in 4K, the high-definition digital video format with four times more resolution than full HD.

The D-Lux LEICA is also the first camera in the D-Lux range to offer an integrated Wi-Fi module that allows remote control of the camera from a smartphone or tablet – a particularly useful feature, for example, in shots with the auto-shutter release function. The LEICA Image Shuttle app required for this feature can be downloaded for free and installed on iOS or Android devices. The camera can also transfer photos or video over a WLAN connection. The built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) module can quickly and easily make a Wi-Fi connection with an NFC-enabled smartphone when the phone is close to the camera.

The D-Lux LEICA is distinguished by its elegant and classic design of timeless beauty with special attention to simple and intuitive handling. As the main consideration is always imaging, distractions should be kept to a minimum, with switching between automatic and manual modes particularly simple. The sharp, high-contrast image of the camera's built-in electronic viewfinder displays the same exposure settings as on the LCD screen and ensures the ideal composition of any subject. Images can be viewed directly on the high-resolution 3" LCD screen, even in bright sunlight.
