It is placed on the arms, allowing to alter the center of gravity of the device for a more comfortable handling.

20g smallrig counterweight kit
Get your perfectly balanced camera on your DJI OM 4 or Osmo Mobile 3 gimbal stabilizer when using a heavy camera, lens or smartphone with the help of smallrig's 0.7oz three-weight package. Designed for easy stacking, these counterweights have an M3 screw on one side and an M3 thread on the other and will add a total counterweight of 2.1 oz if stacked together. Each sturdy stainless steel weight features knurled sides, making it easy to screw onto a separately available mounting plate or clamp.
