Hot Shoe Adapter SONY SMAD P5

The SMAD-P5 Multi-Interface (MI) Hot Shoe Adapter allows you to conveniently and wirelessly connect the URX-P40 wireless receiver to compatible camcorders or cameras with interchangeable lenses that include a Multi-Interface (MI) shoe. It transmits audio signals directly from the wireless receiver to the camera without the need to connect any cables. The adapter also supports direct digital audio recording from compatible camcorders, saving A/D and D/A conversion phases to deliver high sound quality with low noise. The SMAD-P5 allows the wireless receiver to use the camcorder as a power source via the multi-interface hot shoe, while the receiver's power on and off can be controlled directly from the camera.

The SMAD-P5 is compatible with XDCAM camcorders PXW-Z280/Z190, PXW-X180/X160, PXW-X280/X200*, PXW-Z150**, PXW-FX9, PXW-FS7, PXW-FS7II, PXW-FS5, PXW-FS5II, PXW-Z90 and PXW-X70, NXCAM HXR-NXR-N camcorders x5R**, HXR-NX80, HXR-MC2500 and HXR-MC88, Cinema Line ILME-FX6V and ILME-FX3**** cameras, Handycam**** FDR-AX60, FDR-AX45 and NEX-VG30, interchangeable lens digital cameras**** α7II, α7III, α7IV, α7RII, α7RIII, α7RIV, α7RIV, α7S, α7SII, α7SIII, α7C, α9, α9II, α1, α6600 and α99II with analog output adjustment. Digital connection is available for PXW-FX9, PXW-Z280/Z190***, ILME-FX6V, ILME-FX3, α7RIV, α7SIII, α7C, α9II and α1. The PXW-FX9, PXW-Z280/Z190*** and ILME-FX6V can display the status of the wireless microphone on the LCD screen or viewfinder (as of March 2022).

* The firmware of the PXW-X200 must be updated to version 2.00 or later to use the SMAD-P5.

** If used with the PXW-Z150 or HXR-NX5R with AC power, place a battery in the camera. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee power or on/off control functions. In that case, insert fresh AA alkaline batteries into the receiver and adjust the menu item (PWR SOURCE) in the receiver's power selection to BATT ONLY mode to prevent the camera from shutting down unexpectedly or losing data.

The firmware of the PXW-Z280/Z190 must be updated to version 3.00 or later.

When using these specific camera models (all Handycams, interchangeable lens digital cameras, and ILME-FX3) with the URX-P41D+SMAD-P5, we cannot guarantee power or on/off control. Insert fresh AA alkaline batteries into the receiver and adjust the menu item (PWR SOURCE) in the receiver's power selection in BATT ONLY mode to prevent the camera from shutting down unexpectedly or losing data.
