Zeiss Milvus 35mm f1.4

The lens ZEISS Milvus 35mm f1.4, a new lens for full-frame DSLR cameras of CANON and NIKON: the ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35. This tenth optic of the Milvus family, the ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35 is especially suitable for portrait photography thanks to its speed. "The high maximum aperture allows the subject to stand out clearly against the background, and the photographer can achieve creative combinations of focus and blur," says Christophe Casenave, Product Manager at ZEISS. "The manual focus allows for very precise focusing, and the smooth bokeh provides an excellent image. And even at full aperture the image quality leaves nothing to be desired." The milvus 1.4/35 ZEISS is also perfect for landscape photography: "The 35-millimeter focal length is a true all-rounder." Like all opticians in the milvus family ZEISS, it is protected against dust and splashes and, according to Casenave, not even bad weather is a problem. The metal barrel gives the lens a robust and durable character.

Virtually no chromatic aberrations thanks to a new optical design

The lens ZEISS Milvus 35mm f1.4 With aspherical lens elements, special glass materials and advanced correction, ZEISS has given this lens a completely new optical design. "This means that the photos are practically free of chromatic aberrations," says Casenave. Thanks to their excellent end-to-end imaging, Milvus ZEISS optics are designed for high-performance digital cameras. "The resolutions of camera sensors are getting higher and higher, and this also increases the demands on the lenses. For milvus' ZEISS goals this is no problem. They are a solid investment for the future."

Also suitable for video

The ten lenses of the milvus family ZEISS , with ranges between 15 and 135 millimeters, are also suitable for film productions: manual focus with a large angle of rotation can be handled, with the help of a ZEISS Lens Gear, with a follow-focus system. The de-click function allows the aperture to be adjusted continuously in the camera version NIKON . An added benefit for video: ZEISS has matched the color characteristics of the ten lenses. Professionals can, therefore, switch between focal lengths and obtain a uniform color.
