An unprecedented super telephoto zoom lens for Z-series mirrorless cameras, NIKON 's NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR lens delivers exceptional sharpness throughout the zoom range. Created for the demanding needs of sports and wildlife photographers, this lens covers a wide range of telephoto lenses allowing you to capture exciting photos and videos in a relatively compact and lightweight design.

Optical Design

It features six ED (ultra-low scattering) glass elements to increase light transmission and decrease light scattering, effectively eliminating chromatic aberrations and color stripes throughout the zoom range for remarkable color clarity and accuracy.
It uses a single aspherical glass element to minimize distortion and coma in wide openings. The aspherical element also allows for a lighter and more compact size, which is especially useful for super-telephoto zoom lenses.
An FLC fluorine coating effectively repels dust, water droplets, grease and dirt, ensuring easy removal even when adhering to the lens surface. This coating withstands a high frequency of cleaning the lens surface and its anti-reflective effect also contributes to the capture of clear images.

Autofocus and vibration reduction

STM stepper motor for fast, accurate, smooth and quiet autofocus with reduced wobbling. This drive system also offers impressively smooth and quiet autofocus performance that is well suited to still image and video applications.
A/M mode, which stands for Auto Priority Manual Mode, allows for an easy transition from autofocus to manual during AF operation.
Internal focus lens design keeps the lens the same size during zoom and autofocus operation. This also allows for a compact form factor capable of close focusing distances.
It offers a minimum focusing distance of 4.3', along with a maximum magnification of 0.25x in the 180mm zoom position to capture details and subjects in the foreground.
The built-in optical vibration reduction (VR) system improves image stability by automatically compensating for camera shake. This technology built into the lens provides an equivalent stabilization effect at a faster 5.5-stop shutter speed, reducing camera blur when scrolling to follow fast-moving subjects.
