Combining an exceptionally wide angle of view with the ability to correct perspective distortion, the Venus Optics Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift is an ideal lens for architectural and interior photography. Offered here in a NIKON mount, the lens' wide 94.4° angle of view is complemented by an impressive +/- 11mm offset range to compensate for unwanted converging lines and keystone distortion. In addition, as part of the Zero-D lens series, this lens also reproduces scenes with a high degree of accuracy and very low distortion.
As for the optics, there are two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements, which reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to achieve great sharpness and clarity. A water-repellent "frog eye" coating also protects the front element of the lens from water droplets and moisture. The lens uses a manual focus design to work with subjects at a distance of up to 9.8" and has a fourteen-blade diaphragm to produce smooth, circular bokeh as well as specular reflections when stopped and photographing spot light sources.
