The new Vario-Elmarit-SL 70–200 f/2.8 ASPH., the third zoom lens with an aperture of 2.8, forms together with the Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14–24 f/2.8 ASPH. and the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24–70 f/2.8 ASPH. a powerful trio for the SL system. This series allows you to shoot and shoot with a continuous aperture across the entire focal length range, from 14mm ultra-wide to 200mm telephoto. At the same time, LEICA Camera AG presents another extender for the L-mount Varios telephoto lens. The L 2.0x extender extends the new SL lens to a focal length of up to 400mm.

With a classic telephoto zoom focal length, it's predestined for stunning portrait photography. Thanks to the large aperture throughout the zoom range and excellent image stabilisation, the new Vario lens is also up to any challenge in event, sports and wildlife photography.

Inside the lens are 20 lenses in 15 groups, including three lenses with aspherical surfaces, ensuring sharp, detailed images down to angles at all focal lengths. In addition, the internal focus and the resulting constant overall length make comfortable handling at any focal length possible.

With the new L 2.0x extender, sold separately, the focal length of the Vario telephoto lens can be extended from 70–200 mm to 140–400 mm. It takes up very little space in your bag, but offers plenty of room to bring your own creative visions to life.
