PANASONIC has taken a different approach to camera development with the DC-G9 Micro Four Thirds Mirrorless mirrorless camera, which has a variety of newly developed features and functions that will appeal to photographers. The combination of a 20.3MP Live MOS sensor and the latest Venus Engine processor is critical to the imaging process, enabling the capture of sharp images and video with sensitivities ranging up to ISO 25600. Extremely fast speeds are also available with up to 60fps continuous shooting with the electronic shutter function. If you want to record video along with still images, the G9 is very accommodating, offering 4K UHD up to 60p.

This improved speed is seen in many different aspects, including an improved Depth-from-Defocus autofocus system with 225 areas for fast and accurate focusing throughout the frame. A rear joystick has also been implemented for intuitive control over the current focus point. Another benefit of enhanced processing is the inclusion of 6K PHOTO at 30fps and 4K PHOTO at up to 60fps, allowing users to capture 18MP or 8MP images, respectively, at exceptional frame rates. Beyond speed, the 5-axis sensor stabilization system supports Dual I.S. 2.0 and can compensate for up to six stops of camera movement. And a significant addition made possible with this new system is a multi-shot mode that captures eight separate images and compiles them into a single 80MP RAW image.

Not only has performance been optimized, as the G9 has a redesigned body that is splash, dust and freeze resistant. The body gets a superior status LCD display for quick access to essential settings without needing to check the LCD or viewfinder, which have also been improved. Most notably, the OLED viewfinder has been enhanced with a magnification of 0.83x and a resolution of 3.68m dots. The EVF has a refresh rate of 120 fps and a lag-free display. In addition, the LCD screen is now a 3.0" 1.04m free-angle touch screen to work intuitively and at odd angles.

The new LUMIX G lens has a high focusing speed and brightness of f2.8 throughout the focal length. In addition, thanks to the wide zoom range, this lens is very practical and versatile. It allows you to capture from portraits or close-ups with blurred backgrounds to moving subjects (for example sports scenes or animals in their environment) when a higher shutter speed is necessary.

The constant aperture can also be used for video recording. This lens incorporates the POWER O.I.S. optical image stabilizer, which allows you to achieve very sharp images. The stabilizer is designed to compensate for involuntary movements – slow or fast – of the hands, when working freehand. This makes obtain excellent results even in low light situations such as night or indoor environments. The total length of the lens is fixed; its size does not vary either by zooming or focusing, thanks to its unique mechanism. The inclusion of a stepper motor makes the focus smooth and quiet, and can be used for both photography and video recording.

The Lumix G X VARIO 35-100mm / f2.8 / POWER O.I.S. is resistant to dust and splashes, which allows you to continue taking pictures in adverse situations such as rain and wind environments (environments with sand). The lens consists of 18 lenses in 13 groups. Highlights include the UED lens (Ultra Extra-low Dispersion) and the two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) that minimize chromatic aberration and distortion.

Despite its high optical performance, the LUMIX G X VARIO 35-100mm / f2.8 / POWER O.I.S. is exceptionally compact and lightweight: it measures approximately 99.9 mm and weighs about 360g to be able to provide great mobility.
