The GH5 II offers unlimited video recording for less downtime during filming, and the camera ships with V-Log L pre-installed for multi-camera recording, making it easy to match the color tone to footage recorded by other VariCam series cameras. The included DMW-BLK22 battery provides approximately 410 shots per charge when using the rear monitor or electronic viewfinder, and the high-capacity battery can be quickly charged with the included USB 3.1 Type-C cable. It can also supply continuous power to the camera while taking photos and videos via the included USB cable.

A 3" point 1.84m dot rear TFT LCD monitor provides flexible framing, high visibility and vivid colors to enable viewing from a variety of angles. An updated 5-axis sensor stabilization system works with Lumix OIS lenses to activate Dual IS 2 for -effective vibration correction. Previously limited to 5 stops of vibration reduction, this now means it can compensate for up to 6.5 stops of shutter speed. A depth autofocus system from blur benefits still image and video recording modes, ensuring fast and accurate focusing. The GH5 II features recognition of face, eye, head, body and human animals. Deep learning technology detects the eye and face about twice as fast as the GH5, allowing you to focus on the composition of your photos and videos. • 20.3MP Live MOS digital sensor with AR coating and Venus motor

With a 20.3MP live digital MOS sensor with a newly developed AR coating, the GH5 II features an evolved Venus Engine image processor. These updates eliminate ghosting and flare in backlit scenes, offer a 25% increase in dynamic range, and improve gradation and color reproduction. Luminance Generation Multipixel technology maximizes sharpness and faithfully reproduces scenes in bright lighting. It offers excellent three-dimensional color control and precise noise reduction techniques to shoot at sensitivities up to ISO 25600. It also allows shooting speeds of up to 12fps with AF-S or manual focus modes.

• 4K video recording

The GH5 II features outstanding video performance for professional videography and is capable of recording unlimited videos in various settings. It can record 10-bit DCI and 4K 60p 4:2:0 and simultaneously output 4:2:2 10-bit via HDMI during 4K 60p 4:2:0 10-bit internal recording. There is an HDMI port on the camera for high-quality output for use with external monitors and recorders. The camera also offers high-bitrate recording for highly detailed images without compression artifacts.

For more advanced users, various image styles provide two types of Cinelike gamma presets in the photo style. With these modes, warm skin tones or delicate shades of light and shadow can be reproduced without color grading over V-Log footage. The Cinelike D2 setting prioritizes dynamic range, while Cinelike V2 prioritizes contrast. L. Monochrome S and L. Classic Neo have also been added, and all these modes can be used for anamorphic video recording.

The GH5 II is designed to be an expandable system, with multiple options available to help enhance video recording capabilities. Examples of this are an optional XLR microphone adapter that provides XLR inputs and physical controls via a hot shoe connection. Users can also use standard microphones and headphones via the 3.5mm input and output jacks.

• Wireless and wired streaming

Designed for ENG, travel, event, conference, and live commerce applications, the easy-to-use Lumix Sync app provides high-quality live streaming with minimal equipment. Whether indoors or outdoors, only the camera and a smartphone are required. Live streaming through a router is also available with Lumix network configuration software. In addition, wired USB-LAN IP live streaming will be compatible with a future firmware update.

• 225-area depth autofocus system from blur

With a high-speed, high-precision autofocus system, the GH5 II incorporates advanced deep learning technology to detect specific subjects, including humans and animals moving quickly. Improved tracking performance quickly recognizes the face and eyes of moving subjects and the human body from a background of moving subjects. The camera keeps tracking the person even if they move quickly, turn their backs on the camera, tilt their head, or move away. This contrast detection type focus method benefits still image and video recording modes, as well as subject tracking applications in which color, size, and motion vectors are used to intelligently lock moving subjects and ensure accurate focus. Depth-from-Defocus technology offers ultra-fast calculation of spatial information, allowing you to instantly and accurately capture your shots.

• Dual I.S. 2

Helping to achieve maximum sharpness when shooting on the handheld, a Dual I.S. 2 combines the camera's sensor change image stabilization technology with lens-based image stabilization to compensate for a wide range of motion types and generate sharper, clearer images. Dual I.S. 2 requires the use of O.I.S.-compatible Lumix lenses, and this updated stabilization system allows the GH5 Mark II to compensate for 6.5 stops of camera motion.

• Body design

A large OLED Live View Finder has an impressive resolution of 3.68m dots and a magnification of 0.76x for an eye-level composition.

A larger medium for image composition and reproduction, the 3" 1.84m dot rear TFT LCD monitor has a free-angle, tilting and rotating design to allow viewing from a variety of angles. It is also a touch screen, allowing intuitive display of navigation control and menu settings.

Dual UHS-II SD card slots provide settings such as relay recording to automatically change cards when one is full; Backup recording, which records the same data on both cards simultaneously; and Allocation Recording, which allows you to save certain files on each card for easier organization.

Built of magnesium alloy with die-cast front and rear frames, the GH5 II features a durable design that also incorporates extensive sealing on each gasket, dial and button to make it splash and dust proof, as well as freeze-proof at 14°F.

• PHOTO 6K and 4K

For cases where a very fast frame rate is needed to capture the best moment, 4K PHOTO allows you to record 8MP still images at 30 or 60 fps, and 6K PHOTO provides 18MP photographs at a shooting speed of 30 fps. Both photo modes feature unlimited recording time and a pre-burst mode records frames one second before and one second after pressing the shutter button, giving you up to 60 frames to choose from.

• Other camera features

A mechanical focal plane shutter allows for a maximum fast shutter speed of 1/8000 sec, as well as a maximum flash synchronization speed of 1/250 sec. Due to the shallow depth of field at maximum aperture a slight movement of the hand can generate out-of-focus images. To avoid this, the integrated POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) system effectively compensates the user's movements, regardless of the magnitude and speed they are. This makes it easy to get sharp photographs, even in low-light environments, such as indoors or at night. This system also works continuously with autofocus (AF) mode.

The focal length of 42.5 mm is perfect for portraits, giving the image great depth and stereoscopic effect. Thanks to the large aperture, users can employ a soft selective focus to bring creativity to their photographs. Its seven blades offer a rounded shape that produces an interesting smoothing effect in the areas outside the focus plane in photographs taken with large apertures. Due to its characteristics, this lens also captures landscapes with extreme naturalness. In addition, the lens ring allows direct and very intuitive control of the aperture value.

The lens system is made up of 14 elements in 11 groups and uses two aspherical lenses, one of them extra-low dispersion (ED) and one high refractive index (UHR). These lenses eliminate spherical aberrations and distortion. The ED lens allows for sharp, high-contrast reproduction without color mixing at the corners and the UHR lens makes the optics deliver a uniform image, from the center to the edges, as well as decreasing the size of the lens system.

Reflection is minimized across the entire visual range (380nm-780nm) thanks to the nanoscale structure low refractive index coating of the lens surface. All this results in an image of extreme clarity, with a very noticeable reduction of the flare and the folded images.
