Developed to be the workhorse for events, portraits, and other medium-length subjects, the PANASONIC Lumix S PRO 70-200mm f/2.8 O.I.S. is an L-mount telephoto zoom characterized by a bright constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 and sophisticated optical and focusing performance. The optical design incorporates various aspherical and low-dispersion elements to minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range for greater clarity, sharpness, and accurate rendering. Complementing the optics is a unique dual-focus system, which uses a linear motor and a stepper motor, to provide especially fast and accurate focusing performance. A focus clutch also allows for especially quick switching between AF and MF settings for tight control. In addition, an optical image stabilizer reduces the effects of camera shakes for sharper manual shooting and the lens has a weather-sealed design for use in harsh conditions.

• The telephoto zoom is designed for full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras, however, it can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length range of 105-300mm.
• The bright constant maximum aperture f/2.8 maintains constant illumination throughout the zoom range and offers greater control over depth of field.
• An aspherical element helps minimize distortions and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range to maintain sharpness and illumination from edge to edge.
• Two ultra-extra low dispersion elements and three extra low dispersion elements greatly reduce chromatic aberrations and color stripes to produce a high degree of clarity and color accuracy.
• A dual-focus system employs a linear motor and stepper motor to deliver impressively fast, accurate and quiet autofocus performance. A focus clutch mechanism has also been incorporated, allowing for almost instantaneous AF/MF change.
• The focusing system has been designed to suppress focal breathing for greater versatility when used for video applications.
• The optical image stabilizer minimizes the appearance of b-camera movement for sharper manual shooting, and also supports dual I.S. and Dual I.S. Features 2.0 for increased stabilization performance up to about seven stops.
• Splash, dust and freeze proof design works in adverse weather conditions down to -14°F.
• The rounded diaphragm of 11 blades contributes to a pleasant bokeh quality.
• A removable rotating tripod collar is included and it benefits to work with the lens on top of a tripod or monopod.
• Compatible with optional DMW-STC14 and DMW-STC20 teleconverters to further extend the range of this lens.
