The Micro Four Thirds System has made it possible to achieve a compact size and a lightweight body. Despite its extremely compact size and exceptional optical performance, this lens fully exploits the capabilities of the 4/3 image sensor, achieves a smoother Live View in combination with the camera body and enables a variety of unique features, such as the AF contrast function of the DMC-GH1 and the DMC-G1.

Despite the wide angle with an impressive zoom range of 7-14mm (35mm equivalent to a cinema camera; 14-28mm), this lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight, ideal for everyday life. Thanks to its wide angle and its 114 degrees of viewing angle, it is possible to frame people easily even in indoor photographs, where spaces are small. The world is extraordinary when you look through the new lens, delivering images and videos* with incredible perspective. * Only available for DMC-GH1.

This lens system achieves an amazing compact body that combines 16 lenses in 12 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses and 4 ED type lenses. Image resolution is high throughout the frame even in wide-angle mode. Thanks to the glass elements molded to the large diameter lens, it also incorporates an F4.0 luminosity throughout the zoom range.

When incorporated into the Lumix G Micro System camera, this lens allows the use of the advanced AF contrast system, which includes the functions of AF Tracking and face detection*, to be able to enjoy photography more. *Only for the DMC-GH1 model.

The 7-diaphragm sheets with a circular aperture give the aperture a rounded shape that produces a smooth and attractive effect in out-of-focus areas and in high apertures. In addition, it also incorporates a highly reliable metal support and uses multilayer lenses that minimizes sombars and flares to improve optical performance. The optimally designed lens hood can be used even in intense sunlight.
