It incorporates a direct-drive linear motor inner focusing system with 3 groups of floating structures for focusing, which allows excellent resolution and contrast without the need to change the total length from full size magnification to infinity. The inclusion of a stepping motor makes the focusing action smooth and quiet for use in both still photography and video recording.
The LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45mm / F2.8 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. offers outstanding image quality with minimal distortion, chromatic aberration, ghosting and flare that passes strict control standards LEICA and goes beyond your expectations. This lens system uses aspherical lenses and ED lenses in its 14 lenses, in 10 groups to achieve an incredibly compact body, taking advantage of the Micro Four Thirds standard, to achieve a great decrease in size while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration.
The MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilizer) suppresses blur commonly caused by hand shake, making it easy to take clear shots, precisely focused macro shots or shoot in dimly lit locations without the need for a tripod.
