PANASONIC has presented its telephoto lens (H-ES50200) for its LUMIX range of cameras (Micro Four Thirds): the LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT of 50-200 mm (100-400 mm: equivalent in a 35 mm camera), F2.8-4.0 ASPH, the third that is launched within the range LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT F2.8-4.0.

The focal length covered by this telephoto lens ranges from an F2.8 (angular) to an F4.0 (telephoto). Compact in design, the latest addition to PANASONIC 's range of interchangeable lenses offers flexible framing to capture reality in detail, both in photography and for video recording.

Thanks to the nanocoating of the surface of the lenses used by PANASONIC, these telephoto lenses manage to reduce phantom flashes. In addition, they feature a robust dustproof, water-splash- and even extreme temperature-proof design of up to -10°C for professional use in adverse conditions. In addition, one of the advantages of this series of lenses is also its high performance for video recording.

With its sleek design, the new 50-200mm DG VARIO-ELMARIT LEICA lens provides perfect images in all its breadth; from a 100 mm angular zoom to a 400 mm ultra telephoto lens (equivalent to a 35 mm camera). Taking advantage of the performance of its high-speed F2.8-4.0, the new telephoto lens covers all kinds of shooting situations: wildlife, sports, portraits, etc.

In addition, for quality close-ups, this lens supports the 1.4xduplicator (DMW-TC14*3) in order to increase the focal length to 560 mm (35mm equivalent) and the 2.0x duplicator (DMW-TC20*3) to increase the focal length up to 800mm (35mm equivalent).

In order to capture a stable, vibration-free image of any kind at the full zoom amplitude, the telephoto lens incorporates an enhanced optical image stabilization system, the Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which exerts perfect control over any movement of the image and ensures that you get photos of unparalleled sharpness and accuracy even without a tripod. The lens works with Dual I.S.*¹ (image stabilizer) and Dual.I.S.2*² when used on a mirrorless LUMIX DSLM camera.

The lens consists of 21 lens elements in 15 groups, two UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses, two ED (ultra-reduced dispersion) and two spherical lenses. This lens system avoids chromatic distortions, eliminates practically all spherical diffraction and guarantees the best photographic quality, achieving high resolution and contrast from the center to the corners.

The sensor unit at max. 240 fps allows you to make the most of cameras with high-speed, high-precision contrast AF. It also helps reduce wobble and also excels in video recording performance. In addition to the quiet operation achieved by the internal focus drive system, the microstep system in the aperture control section helps the camera to smoothly achieve brightness changes when zooming or panning. The optical design achieves exceptional barycentric stability to minimize image changes during zoom. Zoom AF Tracking performance is also improved thanks to the high frame rate analysis of focus control.

Allowing you to add a neutral density filter or polarizing filter (67 mm), this lens provides great expressiveness in both still photo and video.
