Combining strength and lightness, the Pelican 1535AirTP Black Wheeled Transport Case with TrekPak Insert 2017 is waterproof, crushing, dust-resistant, and optimized for travel. For air travel, Pelican has added the airline's available rules for maximum overhead and check-in dimensions to create a case that meets your requirements. Of course, there will always be exceptions, so it's wise to contact your carrier before you leave.

Its 1535AirTP case is made of a proprietary super-lightweight HPX polymer with honeycomb-like structural elements that is up to 40% lighter than most other Pelican polymers. This confidence-inspiring design has been concrete-tested on all sides and corners while loaded with gear. I am not content to stop there; The case was also tested with a 28-lb. steel dart, dropped from a height of 3 feet, submerged for 30 minutes to a depth of 3.3 feet, and the wheels are sway-tested over 1,000 yards with loads at 5 mph.

Full-featured, the case has double-throw ABS latches that accept a user-provided padlock, an O-ring watertight gasket, an automatic bleed valve, and stainless steel deadbolt guards. Users will appreciate the sleek new shape of the tapered curve lid, overmolded rubber handles, and extendable trolley handle. In addition, for easy case identification, there is an attractive removable polycarbonate card holder that can be placed on the front or side of the case.

In addition to being lighter, Pelican has also improved the splitting system. The system is called TrekPak and uses pre-installed wall sections, divider panels, locking pins, and an easy-to-use cutting tool. Simply place your equipment in the box, measure and cut the divider sections, and secure them in place with the steel U-pins. The 7/16" thick divider sections are made of waterproof closed-cell foam that is laminated to form a rigid corrugated plastic panel that resists tearing and crushing. The TrekPak combines with a 1" bottom foam and cap to give your gear 360 degrees of protection.
