Designed for both astronomical and terrestrial use, PENTAX 's WP SP S-Series binoculars can be used with confidence in all weather conditions. The large 50mm large lenses are fully multilayered to reduce reflection and maximize light transmission across the entire optical path. Using the traditional joint prism setup gives scenes a rich depth of vision for an immersive viewing experience and provides a comfortable feel in the hand with plenty of surface area to maintain a secure grip. Large lenses and coatings maximize the amount of light reaching the user's eyes to achieve exceptional low-light capabilities, and their large magnification of 10x provides an immersive viewing experience.
As a complement to the optical performance, there are construction details made for the trail. The optical tubes are filled with nitrogen and sealed with O-rings for fog-proof performance and to make them submersible up to 3.3'. The binoculars sport generous 20mm eye relief and the folding eye cups are sealed against the eye socket to block lost peripheral light that can dim images and affect adjusted night vision.
