The LEICA Geovid 8x42 HD-R (Typ 402) prismatics,combine the image quality of a fully multilayer optical path with the functionality of an integrated 6000 laser foot and ballistics rangefinder computer. Using a series of integrated sensors, the ballistic system measures the ambient atmospheric conditions and angle of the shooter with respect to the target and calculates various values that can help improve shot placement.

Advanced Ballistic Compensation (ABC) LEICA technology combines temperature and air pressure readings with user-defined rangefinder, zeroing distance, and ballistic curve data to calculate ballistic compensation values. To maximize the accuracy of compensation values, the ABC system allows the shooter to distance from the entrance of his rifle from scratch and select a ballistic curve corresponding to the round cameras. The system is pre-loaded with 12 ABC ballistic curves for the most popular calibers and weights. A view on the LED display allows the observer to see the calculated ABC values without taking their eyes off the target.

The Geovid HD-R has a nitrogen filler to fog the home, as well as fully multilayer lenses that transmit high-contrast images that are bright and clear with truth and color reproduction. Porro Perger prism design with phase correction of LEICA combines the benefits of ceiling and Porro designs, delivering an agile form factor and without sacrificing depth of field or color fidelity.surfaces of the exposed lenses are finished with patented against LEICA - the high durable reflection (HDC) and coating of Aquadura lenses, that repel moisture and prevent dirt from adhering to the glass. In addition to extensive functionality and high-quality image quality, the Geovid includes a number of features that provide ergonomic handling and user-friendly interaction. The double-bridge and balanced configuration of the rear center-focus wheel locates the dwelling and helps stabilize in the user's hands. It is also equipped with a long eye relief and four interlocking eye positions that twist to create a comfortable distance for almost any observer. The brightness of the self-adjusting display, the operation of the two-button rangefinder, and microSD memory card are included make the Geovid HD-R a fully loaded rangefinder of lenses up to 6000' away.
